Ray, I see many, many posts in which you seem to be hung up on capitalization and non-capitalization of certain words. I’m really at a loss I guess, because I fail to see why this is such an area of concern. Does the presentation of the text, in terms of punctuation and correct grammar, really pose that much of a stumbling block? Maybe an audio rendition of the Word, and to hear it spoken instead of being read may be a better route to take. (Unless you are prone to being particular about pronunciation) I mean, when Christ, Peter, Paul and the others spoke to those that they spoke to, I’m sure they weren’t interrupted and asked whether or not a particular word should be capitalized. Hear the word bother. The message that God has revealed should be far more important than the punctuation used or whether or not a certain word is capitalized. Just my thoughts. WOS |

Hi WOS, I loved your parenthesis (Unless you are prone to being particular about pronunciation). Don't worry, if I listen to the Bible on tape I would not worry about pronunciation. I can give you something else about me to worry about if you'd like. I count the pronouns. You may have noted my posts on the prayers in the Scriptures and how I have found that many have nouns and pronouns of Deity that have a total that is divisible by three. I have expressed the feeling that that underscores the triunity of God. I have written that I found the first chapter of Genesis to have words of Deity that are divisible by three. In fact, I have the book of Genesis in my personal copy penciled in with choices which lead to a division of three; just as an example. I haven't been anxious to encourage anyone to do what I have done because it is time consuming and can become obsessive. :)) Just ask my wife and my psychologists and marriage counsellors. I can say all this because my time on the forum may be short in many possible ways. I have been warned about speaking about the "holy spirit" as being divisive. So now I can speak more about my "counting" and not worry about capitalization for a while. You can put everything in lower case or upper case, but let me "count" the words that I choose. A comparison of Ephesians 5:8, "...but now you are light in the **Lord; walk as children of light..." can be made with Genesis as an example. Genesis 5:22, "Then Enoch walked with (God)...24 And Enoch walked with **God; and he was not, for God took him." Genesis 6:8, "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the (Lord)...9...Noah walked with **God Genesis 17:1, "Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God/ Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless [Lit., complete, perfect; or, having integrity]. 2 And (I) will establish [Lit., give] **My covenant..." Genesis 48:15, NKJ, "And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The (God) who has fed me all my life long to this day, 16 The **Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads;..." This last reference is another prayer in the Scriptures that is divisible by three in my mind. The ** and parentheses are mine and are for comparison. (The parentheses have numerical significance to me.) I hope this gives you enough to worry about in your concern for me. :)) From the heart, Ray |
