man has free will to reject or accept Gods gift,(as the holy spirit draws them), and God knew before the foundation of the world who would accept or reject.. the ones who would accept are the elect.. It seems like a sensible reconciliation of the two doctrines.. | ||||||

Hi, Telegrammy... Sensible, perhaps... but the verity of the truth of God does not depend on man's ability to make sense of it (1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 4:3). We build doctrine based on everything that the Word of God says on a particular topic (Titus 1:9). This is one of the reasons that participants in the forum are encouraged to make every effort to base their assertions on Scripture. All Scripture is breathed out by God [is inspired in a verbal plenary sense] and profitable for teaching [to eliminate ignorance], for reproof [to deal with disobedience], for correction [to eliminate error], and for training in righteousness [to habituate obedience]. (2 Timothy 3:16) You might be interested in post #150812 on the logical order of the decrees of God. The various theological positions are represented there, including your own Arminian position.
