1 | Physically Correct Communion? | 1 Cor 11:26 | iktoose | 145626
I concur with srbaegon. I also understand Garathom's encounter with his congregation opposing to change the tradition. One time my pastor proposed to use real wine (actually it was wine diluted with juice) and it made some jump. So he withdrew the idea. Since we are on the subject... I know some churches allow only ordained ministers to preside the Communion. Would anyone oppose if non-ordained Christian preside the Communion? If you oppose, pls explain your biblical reason. Thanks. iktoose |

2 | Physically Correct Communion? | 1 Cor 11:26 | EdB | 145634
Attitude not position or status is what is important. You can be ordained and incorrectly view communion as a necessary nuisance as many pastors do. Or you can be a lay person serving communion as an exhibition of your position and again be wrong. Or you can be serving communion as a humble servant doing a task that needs to be done to worship and obey Christ. Communion is “all” about Christ not about the person serving it. However I think we have to be very careful where we try to focus people. Sometimes we try to bring new excitement into our worship by doing something different when in fact what needs to be done is a to bring excitement into our worship by focusing the people more clearly on Christ. If people aren’t excited when Jesus is held higher than they need to get saved. EdB |
