1 | What does "because of the angels" mean ? | 1 Cor 11:10 | Mommapbs | 96760
What does "because of the angels" mean in reference to the "symbol of authority?" I don't see where the AMP is going either . . . who is she not to displease? Could "because of the angels" be referring to this? "The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat." Ex. 25:20 or perhaps this: "Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies." Ez. 1:11 Both seem to be expressions of reverence. Is this perhaps the point? |

2 | What does "because of the angels" mean ? | 1 Cor 11:10 | Mommanique | 96817
Christ gives meaning to the role, respect and authority given to holy angels. The angels do the work of the Father. For a believer to be denied to the holy angels would cause one to be denied earthly intervention through the holy angels. Luke 9:26 and Luke 12:8.

Greetings and welcome to the Forum! Thank you for your response - you keep me thinking! Although I don't follow how believers are denied earthly intervention I appreciated this reference: "And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God;" Luke 12:8 It is interesting to consider that the "symbol of authority" may refer to a "confession of faith" - which leads me to 1 John 5:1-13. To whom does God tesitfy? Is the answer "the angels?" Blessings, mommapbs PS: Please let us get to know you a little more by completing your User Info. (Look under "Resources")Thanks! |
