1 | Adam and sin entering the world. | Rom 5:12 | flinkywood | 108727
Hank, You overlook a 3rd category for Kichmon, Chochma, Context, Clinzey: multiple alias disorder, or MAD. "...but he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (Jam 1:6-8) Colin |

2 | Adam and sin entering the world. | Rom 5:12 | clinzey | 108771
Colin, there are a few things that get me upset. One of them is the kind of personal attack you and Hank use in place of calm discussion. We serve the same God, even if we have different opinions, and we don't deserve such treatment. Another thing that upsets me is when people pull Scripture out of context and use it to bolster their own agenda, when all along the text they use does not speak to their case at all. Such is your use of James 1:6-8. James is referring to asking and receiving wisdom from God, not anything else. Now I expect you to make some crack about wisdom, but honestly, the verses have nothing whatsoever to do with this conversation. Save it for another day. |

3 | Adam and sin entering the world. | Rom 5:12 | EdB | 108809
clinzey James 1:6-8 is talking about wisdom to the extent that asking for wisdom is opened the though. But the writter goes on saying ask for wisdom, then adds and do it faith. Now the focus is faith and asking. That is the context where double mindedness and doubt comes in. So your right the tohought did start with wisdom but it is not exclusive to wisdom when we get to verse 7 and 8. So Colin's usage was excellent here. EdB |
