1 | How high is your self-esteem? | Rom 12:3 | EdB | 97805
Self Esteem Heard an intersesting sermon today that made me think of this question the sermon was based on Mark 9:33-37. Seems like self esteem got the Disciples into a little hot water and clearly Jesus told us how we should esteem ourselves. Flies in the face of everything we hold near and dear of this world but once again we are reminded we are not to be of this world. EdB |

2 | How high is your self-esteem? | Rom 12:3 | Aixen7z4 | 97838
Was that self-esteem or ambition? I thought you would have called it ambition. But I agree; it is the way the world operates. Happily, we know that we are not to be conformed to their ways. I think he says those who want to be great should change their minds and become servants instead. It is enough for the disciple that he be like his master. And the master, he came not to be ministered unto, but to minister. |

3 | How high is your self-esteem? | Rom 12:3 | EdB | 97863
Aixen7z4 Isn't their ambition fueled by their self esteem? To argue over who would be greater would say they esteemed themselves worthy of such position. Jesus said the greater is not the one that is served but the one serving. That very concept is a complete reversal of the world's view of success, value, accomplishment. The world values what it receives, owns and controls, God says value what you give. Once again our true worth is defined by God and the correct view of our worth (self esteem) needs to be the realization of God's view. If we let the world define us we let imperfection set imperfect values, concepts and perceptions upon us. EdB |
