1 | Once Save Always Saved? | Rom 11:11 | Vehoka | 95166 | ||
Have you guys talked about this? As you know, I'm new here so you may have had that conversation already and moved on.... I'm a good little Baptist (Hank will confirm that) but one of the doctrines I am not able to agree with is the "Once Saved Always Saved." I mean...I do understand that just because I might cuss Hank out that doesn't mean I'm suddenly not saved anymore...but if someone does lose their salvation at what point would that be? (Hank, I hope you know I'm just playin' around with ya.) Blessings, Vehoka |

Dear Vohoka you asked "if someone does lose their salvation at what point would that be?" In my understanding, I would say that when a person repeatedly continues in a life-style given over to an extended period of unrepented and unconfessed willful sin (Heb. 10:26) that person is grieving (making sad)the Holy Spirit,(Eph. 4:30) and is in danger of quenching (1 Thess. 5:19)the Holy Spirit's work within himself. When an individual has reach this point, and his conscience has become seared, where he has silenced God's voice speaking to him. Then that person is in danger of being cut off and thrown into the fire and burned, because although he was once abiding in Christ the Vine (John 15:2) he no longer is connected to the source of life, but has become dead spiritually, and cannot become saved a second time. (Heb. 6:4-6) Grace be upon you New Creature |
