Hello Billwalk13, In Jeremiah 3:8 you will read that God definitely did divorce Israel. As He says in Hosea 1:4 ...I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel. Read Hosea 1 and 2, especially 1:10 and 11. wordoer |

Billwalk13, I appreciated wordoer’s comments. True to God’s everlasting Word, Paul commented upon “Hosea” that wordoer mentioned. (Paul quoted this portion from Hosea 2:23) Romans 9:24-25 “And by these chosen people I mean you and me, whom He called out from BOTH Jews and gentiles. He says in Hosea CONCERNING THE GENTILES, ‘Those who were not my people, I will now call my people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.’" Romans 9:26 – “And,” (still concerning only the gentiles, where Paul quoted from Hosea 1:10) “Once they were told, ‘You are not my people’, but now He will say, ‘You are children of the living God’." (9:25-26 CONCERNS ONLY the gentiles, because then Paul states, “Concerning Israel…”) Peter "seconds" this same "idea" with his penned words (especially 1 Peter 2:9-10) … “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people, You are a kingdom of priests, God’s Holy Nation, His very own possession … Once you were not a people, now you are the people of God. Once you received none of God’s mercy, now you have received His mercy." T’oma |
