1 | did God divorce Israel | Rom 11:1 | T'oma | 154425
Billwalk13, one thing must be remembered. While all of Mt Zion is in Jerusalem, Jerusalem is not all of Mt Zion. The vast majority of Israel left “Judaism” thousands of years ago. That is the reason that God DIVORCED Israel. Jeremiah 3:6 “In the days of King Josiah the Lord asked me, "Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has ascended every high hill and gone under every green tree to prostitute herself there. 3:7 “I thought: After she has done all these things, she will return to Me. But she didn't return, and her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 3:8 “I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and HAD GIVEN HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.” (emphasis mine) And I can't find where God ever "remarried" her but she has been scattered and swallowed into the nations. Don't confuse Judaism with "Israelites". T’oma |

2 | did God divorce Israel | Rom 11:1 | Ray | 154430
Hi T'oma, God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16. Yet, even with the unfaithfulness and unrepentant adultery in worshiping other gods in this anology in the spiritual realm, God is telling them to return to Him. Jeremiah 3:11 says that "Faithless Israel has proved herself more righteous than treacherous Judah." He says to return and acknowledge their iniquity, and Jeremiah 3:14, NKJ, says "Return, O backsliding children," says the Lord; "FOR I AM MARRIED TO YOU. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion." (Emphasis mine). From the heart, Ray |

Thanks for your input. I had mentioned the Mal 2:16 verse in my discussion with a man who had some weird views on God's love - he sees God as extremely selective.
