1 | Can man know God without a Bible | Rom 10:17 | Hank | 64551
Hello again, Doug. When I said "blundered my way" I was being more literal than poetic! Accordingly, I apologize for the typo that led to my addressing you as "Doug Knoz" and hereby correct it to "Doug Knox" as in John Knox or Knoxville! I do hope that you are not an adamant believer in first impressions and that I may be accorded a chance to redeem myself! --Hank

Not a problem, Hank. I'm probably the world's champion when it comes to typoos--tipos--typos. X to Z is one of my favorites. Doug |

Doug ... One of my favorite amusements in addition to chuckling over typos, some of them quite embarrassing to the typist I'm sure, is observing misquotes and various other blunders that writers and speakers fall prey to. Once in summer camp when I was a youth, at evening vespers the camp director led us in the hymn which was intended to be "Nearer, My God, to Thee." Obviously he missed the libretto somewhat and throughout the hymn he sang loud and clear "Nearer, Thy God, to Me.".... And how often have we heard "Money is the root of all evil." or Gibbon's title misquoted as "The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire" or Darwin's title rendered "Origin of THE Species"? Possibly my favorite is this: "The Bible says that God helps those who help themselves." [That comes from the book of Hezekiah, I believe, Chapter 4, Verse 16!] You see, we do have occasional interludes of comic relief on the forum, some even intentional. --Hank
