1 | Titus and Romans:comparable introduction | Rom 1:4 | justme | 82475
Ray: I am so glad the hear from you! You are in my prayers. Now to your question. Most all of Pauls intoductions have a simular format to a degree. Just because you asked, I did count the pronouns in both introductions. In Romans, I could not come up with a number divisible by three. In Titus, yes, I think maybe. So you got me, why would I want to do the mathmatics? The reason I desired to do so was because I thought there was some significant idea you were coming up with. Now about being off base, no. Scripture speaks to each of us in ways that the Holy Spirit wants to make us aware of. I have often read a passage several times and learned something new after reading it for years. For instance, last week when I was reading what happened on that day, the last week of Jesus, one day at a time, as the day passed. I noticed something I had overlooked. The donkey Jesus rode on had to have its mother with it. That opened a new idea for my understanding of this event. Why I never paid attention to that detail before I have no idea. This was a real gem to discover for me. I hope my answer is what you expected. Sometimes I get an answer to my questions and they are way off base. I hope I got close to what you were looking for. Blessings to you Ray! justme |

2 | Titus and Romans:comparable introduction | Rom 1:4 | Ray | 149214
Hi justme, It has been just over two years since we talked on this thread. Because I was led back to this thread, perhaps I should explain more of where I was coming from back then. Here is my personal interpretation of Titus 1:1-4 with a total of eighteen nouns and pronouns of Deity. "Paul, a bond-servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of those chosen of God and the full knowledge of His truth which is according to godliness, in the hope of the Eternal Life which God, who cannot lie promised long ages ago, but at the proper time He manifested, even in His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior; to Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior." For Romans 1:1-7 I have twenty-one nouns and pronouns of Deity. I hope this finds you well. Thank you for your interest and encouragement in the past. From the heart, Ray |
