Hi, mikec! John is an excellent Gospel--my favorite! I would also suggest that you read Matthew, specially the first 7 chapters, and Luke, chapters 1 and 2. If you can purchase or borrow a concordance dictionary so that you may cross-reference the various passages. Read as much or as little as you can assimilate; just don't make it a chore or an epic reading--many people fall out of love once the honey-moon is spent! Make it a point to begin by praying for the Holy Spirit's guidance, separate yourself from as much as the environment as possible (after all, this is your special time with God!), make it a habit to interiorize the Word (practice makes perfect) and allow yourself to see the world through the Gospels! God Bless! Angel |
