1 | Trinity and Confusion | Acts 2:38 | Savannah | 32370
Brian, It is posible Brian that my message sounds way out there by the time you got to it. But when you come into the middle of a conversation, things can me misunderstood. I can hardly reply to your message. There isn't a shred of truth to it. Just to assure you Brian I do not measure up to anything you have said about me. (( First, you are stating that if you don't possess a full understanding of Gods actions or plans - then you will not accept or believe in God. In effect, you are saying that you are demanding to be Gods equal, not His lesser.)) What you are responding to here is what someone else quoted to me!!!!!!!! These were in no way my words. I do not believe there are 3 gods. Thats redicolous. Sorry to have wasted your time. Peace and Joy, Savannah |

2 | Trinity and Confusion | Acts 2:38 | Hank | 32373
Savannah, perhaps you could clear up some of this misunderstanding about your position in regard to the doctrine of the Trinty if you would post a concise and clear statement of your position and your reasons for holding it, giving in the process scriptural passages which you view as justifying it. Perhaps this would serve to enlighten others of your position and foster better communication among you and your correspondents.--Hank
3 | Trinity and Confusion | Acts 2:38 | Savannah | 32478
Good point Hank, Someday hopfully in the near future I will. It will take a great deal of time to write it so bear with me. I feel a little frustrated. Everything I seem to write gets so misconstrewed. I think part of it is not having explained in detail where I stand and second of all I use the KJV. Scripture does get turned around in other books. Thanks for the tip! Savannah |

You write: "I use the KJV. Scripture does get turned around in other books." My reply: Many, such as the KJV-Only advocates, are scared to death that they're going to get hold of a poor translation that will somehow deceive them into committing apostasy or heresy. Consider this. Any doctrine that depends solely on one verse of Scripture -- especially if it depends on only one verse in only one particular translation -- any such doctrine that is so inadequately supported isn't much of a doctrine to begin with. The inspiration of the Bible, the deity of Christ, the incarnation, the atonement, God's plan of salvation, the Second Coming of Christ, etc. can be proven using the KJV, NKJV, NIV, ASV, RSV, NASB, NEB, or any number of other translations. (The single exception would be the New World Translation produced by the Jehovah's Witnesses which is better classified as creative writing -- fiction.) This idea that the same passage in one version will be translated to have an opposite meaning in another verison is pure nonsense. I see no need for people to become hysterical in their fierce opposition to this or that translation. Moreover, the differences in the wording of various translations is due more to the aim of the translators (to produce a word-for-word or thought-for thought translation) than to differences in the underlying Greek texts. |

5 | Trinity and Confusion | Acts 2:38 | Savannah | 32612
Your message is not well received. You know, we're all Christians here. We're supposed to respect and love our brother's and sister's in Christ. I'm tired of getting messages that come from upset people. Treat me with some kindness and understanding please! And don't, I beg you, read into things that are not written. I did not say that the scriptures were opposite. Nor do I become hysterical in my fierce opposition. I don't have a FIERCE opposition. I prefer KJV because I do find differences. That's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it. This message was sent in response to discuss the differences in translation between 2 Bibles. So yes I needed to ask the writer to explore a different reading. And one more thing I don't need to rely on 1 scripture to support my doctinal beliefs. |
