1 | Do you pay tithes on whole check or part | Acts 15:1 | EdB | 64501
Johnny I really don’t know why I bothered but here are your questions. With the answer to them right below. You write"Your right Johnny nowhere in the New Testament does it say to pay tithes, but it also does not prohibit it. If we following Abraham's example and using a tithe to pay honor and tribute nothing in the New Testament prohibits that." you are wrong in this Christ not prohibit the tithes if you do other part of the law. take a look at this verse. MY ANSWER: First this does not prohibit tithes. It is just saying if your going to try to keep the law you need to keep it all, especially the more weightier or important parts. You write:"As for Abraham killing others and bringing back their goods. Abraham was protecting his family and yes I think Jesus would allow that. His disciples carried swords and the main reason for carrying swords is to defend yourself. Notice Jesus never told them to get rid of the swords." Where in the new testament that desciples killed anyone depending themselves? John beheaded is he depended himself or killed anyone depending his own? Paul beheaded after imprisone did he kill someone depending himself? your suggestion is very far from the scriptures: Mt 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. MY ANSWER: This is another issue much more involved than this thread needs right now. It has been discussed and do a search on the word “sword”. If you want ot discuss it with me I think two things need to happen. First you need to start reading what I say and second we need to start a new thread. Then who gave you the Authority of receiving tithes? Can you show me based on the bible that you are now have the Authority receving tithes can you please show me the scriptures backing up your claim. MY ANSWER: Nobody said you have to be a Levite to receive a tithe. Tithes were paid to Kings, Sultans, and queens. As I have told you it was a way to show honor and tribute. The Bible even shows a non Levite Melchizedek receiving a tithe. Did paul collect the tithes? Where in the scriptures that paul being paid for his evangelistic work where is that? MY ANSWER; in 2 Cor. 11:8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you; Can you show any disciples that received their salaries from the church? MY ANSWER: Luke 10:7 "Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. Please show me. I know paul support himself by a tentmaker not by collecting tithes. MY ANSWER: Your right Paul did support himself in many cases but he did take pay (see above). Plus he taught that a pastor should be paid. 1 Cor. 9:14 So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel. Galatians 6:6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 1 Tim. 5:18 For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING," and "The laborer is worthy of his wages." 1 Cor. 9:11 If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 1 Tim. 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. Pastors that receive salaries is not in the bible, because desciples never collect salaries, because they know the teaching of Christ:Now if can show me any desciples that collect thier salaries please do. MY ANSWER: Already did see above Luke 10:7 Johnny stop proof texting look what Paul is teaching. I have clearly given scriptures showing Paul taught a pastor should be paid. I have referred you to books that will teach you on Middle Eastern customs of tithing. I have taught you on the need to support that which benefits you. If you do not want the benefits of tithing in your life. Okay but stop proclaiming they are wrong. The only part that is wrong is if you pay tithe under the law. EdB |

2 | Do you pay tithes on whole check or part | Acts 15:1 | jlpangilinan | 64568
If we review the note that I gave to marcyp my wieght of my argument is in tithes and very sure tithes is not a teaching of Christ! because no where in the new testament that He required anyone to give tithes. If you can show me that tithes is teaching of Christ we will agree. But tithes is not a teaching of Christ! If tithes is a teaching of Christ why He did not teach it to his desciples. If the teaching is important Christ will teach it again for example the teaching of love the nieghbor as thyselves this was taugh in OT but Christ taught it again in NT but tithe He never taught it again. 3 | Do you pay tithes on whole check or part | Acts 15:1 | EdB | 64580
Johnny I have repeatedly told you I agree tithes is not taught in the New Testament! Your right! However paying your pastor is! Support for things that benefit you is! Giving is taught! If you don't see that your ignoring scripture! I'm simply saying if everyone gave his or her fair share all needs would be met. I then offered 10 percent as a fair share. This is known as a tithe. Not because the law called it a tithe but because that is what it is called. You have a big thing abut tithe okay call it something else a free will offering. Nonetheless the church needs to be supported and I have supplied more than ample proof Paul, Jesus, said a pastor/teacher should be paid. EdB |
