Sttil, Okay, that's clear. I'm trying to not read into what you say; I'm trying to understand. From your reply, I see that you are describing how a parrallel, contemporary concept was used to make a mystery intelligible. However, I don't believe the mystery owes anything to the explanation. Have you read anything by N.T. Wright, particularly "The Resurrection of the Son of God"? He is brilliant on this theme. Colin |

The mystery doesn't owe anything to the explanation. Aroung the time of Justin Martyr, the Christians were being pursecuted, Justin was just trying to make it better for the Christians. I can't say that I have read anything by N.T. Wright, the name doesn't ring a bell. I'll look into it. |
