Greetings again, Tim, I was thinking about Matthew 5:43-48 during the latest discussion about Jehovah's Witnesses here at the Forum, and I was also thinking to myself that many groups (or what we call "cults" as Christians) put us to shame with their outward efforts of 'evangelism.' But the one thing that would make our efforts and our way even more attractive, and to possibly even win them over to faith in Christ, is to show love to them as well. "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Christ's words in John 15:17 come to mind, "These things I command you, so that you will love one another." I believe that authentic, true to life Christianity could be as infectious and spreading in this world as anything that this world has ever seen! And it starts with us, who have been entrusted with the stewardship of the gospel, as Paul was. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Makarios, You are right, and we're also put to shame by the zeal of most Muslims who pray 5 times a day. I recently invited a group of JW's into my home and the mere act of opening my bible to compare verses caused them to back out the door en masse. One of them appeared to cringe through clenched teeth as I offered her a bible tract. That's some strange zeal, it seems, but imagine what a Christian soldier she could be. Nevertheless, it's often hard for me to be a gentle witness. Thanks for remembering the real sprit of evangelism. Colin |
