Greetings again, Tim, I was thinking about Matthew 5:43-48 during the latest discussion about Jehovah's Witnesses here at the Forum, and I was also thinking to myself that many groups (or what we call "cults" as Christians) put us to shame with their outward efforts of 'evangelism.' But the one thing that would make our efforts and our way even more attractive, and to possibly even win them over to faith in Christ, is to show love to them as well. "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Christ's words in John 15:17 come to mind, "These things I command you, so that you will love one another." I believe that authentic, true to life Christianity could be as infectious and spreading in this world as anything that this world has ever seen! And it starts with us, who have been entrusted with the stewardship of the gospel, as Paul was. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Thank you Tim and Makarios, You are definitely correct regarding the love we must show to others - adversary or not! The conversations I have had with my JW friends have all been very cordial in tenor and demeanor. I actually like them very much! I am totally convinced that God loves and finds value in all human beings (even those who are in the darkness like Saddam Hussein). Otherwise, how can I be so sure that He loves me????? I am convinced that God wants EVERYONE home with Him. He is an inclusive God, not an exclusive God. The primary thing anyone needs to do is accept God's gift of love, mercy, and redemption. Prayer for God's will to be worked in our lives according to His great plan is a powerful thing. Your sister in Christ Jesus Edie |
