1 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | Jameson | 62113
In the days of Noah, there was peace and safety. There was peace and safety for those who obeyed God. Today, peace and safety is in the spiritual realm--what happens here on earth to our bodies is not relevant--we are safe in the arms of God (much better, even, than an ark, wouldn't you say?) on our way to a much better place. |

2 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | CDBJ | 62131
I think it would be advisable for you to read 1 Thess. 5:3 again I think you have your groups mixed up. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. This doesn’t sound like the people of God to me? |

3 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | Jameson | 62136
Very astute observation--1Thessalonians 5:3 is not about the children of God. Luke 17:26, however, is. The original query was in relation to Luke 17:26, I believe, which is the context of my response; therefore, I believe it would be advisable for you to not apply diverse Scriptures about believers and non-believers in an attempt to form a perspective of God's Love. Luke 17:26 and 1Thessalonians 5:3 are on opposite sides of the spectrum as they relate to the justice of Almighty God. |

4 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | CDBJ | 62139
Who said anything about God’s love? Please show me where the children of God are found in Luke 17:26, the next verse clearly points out that they were destroyed therefore they were unbelievers. That sure isn’t Noah and the other seven believers. The peace and safety crowed are unbelievers just as 1Thess. points out. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. The believers are found in the following verse. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Paul makes it sound like we will know when the day is approaching. But ye, means the believers that are alive at that time. CDBJ |
