1 | Why doesn?t God just show himself to tho | Mark 11:22 | Morant61 | 66238
Greetings Joe! I will never forget what one of my professors said in college. He made the point that science can't really 'prove' anything. Like you said, science makes conclusions based upon observations. However, those conclusions only deal with probilities, not fact. For instance, suppose one wanted to prove that there are not any purple ducks. One could look at 10 ducks, 100 ducks, 1 million ducks, and discover that there were not any purple ducks among those observed. However, this does not constituet proof that there are have never been, are not currently, nor ever will be purple ducks. It only proves that there was not one among the million observed. So, strickly speaking, science cannot prove anything! :-) Yet, people will demand a higher standard of 'proof' for God than they demand for anything else in life! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi, Tim. No purple ducks? Indeed, once upon a time down here in the Ozarks a farmer absent-mindedly left a bushel of purple plums out in his orchard and presently along came his ducks which, upon seeing the succulent fruit, proceeded to treat themselves to a feast. And sure enough, they invaded the plums with such gusto that long ere they had consumed all the plums, their feathers had become plum purple. Some skeptic scientists, however, upon being presented with solid evidence that these ducks were purple, still refused to believe and postulated the theory that these birds were not really ducks but were purple martins with flat beaks and web feet. The controversy, to my knowledge, has never been fully settled even to this day. We haven't had much trouble identifying our Razorbacks though, except on those rare occasions when they don't win football games. It is on these occasions when we suspect that a few Texas Longhorns have crept in to sabotage the team. --Hank

Greetings Hank! I always knew that Razorbacks were big, but if they are so large that one cannot distinguish them from a Texas Longhorn, then they are quite a bit larger than I had been led to believe! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
