Dear Cuddle, I neglected to add that sign-seeking characterizes an "evil and adulterous generation" (Matthew 12:39). I think we'd just as soon avoid looking anything like that bunch (Mark 8:38)! In Him, Doc |

Hey there Doc! How have you been? I miss the forum! We have relocated and I have just been trying to get adjusted to the the surroundings. Anyway ,... I searched the forum and I am not sure I worded my question right. I have been introduced to IHOP and I do not mean the pancake house. It is IHOP- International HOuse of Prayer. They seem to promote prophetic utterences for this day and are really into sign and wonders. For example, oil oozing from this guys hands, and jewels falling out of no where... stuff like that. At first glance I thought, "cool, a place you can go and pray with others no matter time or day/night." But the the more I am learning the more I am raising an eyebrow. I am not a finger pointer and I never want to falsly accuse, so I thought I would try and glean from more mature than myself on the forum. I have been taking my questions and what not to the Lord in prayer, I also feel I should glean from the wisdom of my brothers and sisters who may have already been there done that so to speak. Does any f that make sense? |

Hi, Cuddle... Oh my... there are so many things wrong with that bunch, I am not sure I could enumerate them. They make me mindful of those that Jude was warning us about, "relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones... waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever." Honestly, Cuddle, that whole contemplative spirituality stuff is, like Steve Brown says, "straight from the pit and smells like smoke." So run the other way! In Him, Doc |
