AMPLIFIED Daniel 9:27 And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator. Greetings kalos, So you mean the 7 years tribulation stated in Daniel 9 has yet to come? Isn't this part of the 2300 years prophecy that was fulfilled for when the Messiah came and the cleansing of the Sanctuary? |

inheavenseyes (and kalos), let me interupt. There are some who say the tribulation already happened, as well as it will never happen. I believe it has not happened, because of the many Scriptures. The '2300 evenings and mornings' probably point to the period of general persecution which began in 170 B.C. when a representative of Antiochus' regime engineered the assassination of Jewish high priest, Onias. Although Antiochus was not personally involved in this plot it would have been viewed by the Jews as the first step in an ongoing Syrian intrigue to further dominate Palestine. Jerusalem was given a puppet religious leader who was willing to cooperate with Syrian designs. This oppression reached its height sometime in the year 167 when Antiochus issued his decree prohibiting the Jewish religion. Greek soldiers poured into Palestine and some say as many as 70,000 Jews were killed in the persecution that followed. It was at this time that the temple sacrifices were suspended and the sanctuary itself defiled with pagan idolatry. Then, in 164 B.C., God-fearing Jews known as Maccabeans revolted against the Syr-ian army and succeeded in re-capturing and 'cleansing' (or 'restoring' RSV) the temple in December of that year. The following chart pictures the 2300 days as probably understood by Jews before the time of Christ: http://www.goodnewsunlimited.org.au/sda1.htm#E99E5 Some use a starting date of 457 B.C. (Based on Ezra 7:1-27, 7th year of Artaxerxes, the third commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem) for the 2300 day (year) prophecy of Dan 8:14, you arrive at the date 1844. as the date for the start of Judgment in heaven (the cleansing of the sanctuary). ... But, now what? It appears nothing happened in 1844, tho some say the cleansing was in heaven. I wonder was heaven in need of cleansing. Searcher |

5 | cleansing of the sanctuary? | Matt 24:29 | inheavenseyes | 60939
Greetings Searcher! Thank you for u'r answer though we're going far from the tribulation and here you started about the Cleansing of the Sanctuary. Let me ask if the Lord needed to give up all the power of Heaven for man to be restored then is it impossible then that there's cleansing need in Heaven? the cleansing is not for Heaven but for our restoration. Let me share you this: ¡°Cleansing of the Sanctuary¡± After His ascension, our Saviour began His work as our high priest. Says Paul, "Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us." Hebrews 9: 24. . . . For eighteen centuries this work of ministration continued in the first apartment of the sanctuary. The blood of Christ, pleaded in behalf of penitent be- lievers, secured their pardon and acceptance with the Father, yet their sins still remained upon the books of record. As in the typical service there was a work of atonement at the close of the year, so before Christ's work for the redemption of men is completed, there is a work of atonement for the removal of sin from the sanctuary. This is the service which began when the 2300 days ended. At that time . . . our High Priest entered the most holy, to perform the last division of His solemn work--to cleanse the sanctuary. . The coming of Christ as our high priest to the most holy place, for the cleansing of the sanctuary, brought to view in Daniel 8:14; the coming of the Son of man to the Ancient of days, as presented in Daniel 7: 13; and the coming of the Lord to His temple, foretold by Malachi, are descriptions of the same event; and this is also represented by the coming of the bridegroom to the marriage, described by Christ in the parable of the ten virgins, of Matthew 25. The cleansing of the sanctuary . . . involves a work of investigation -- a work of judgment. This work must be performed prior to the coming of Christ to redeem His people; for when He comes, His reward is with Him to give to every man according to his works. In the day of final reckoning, position, rank, or wealth will not alter by a hair's breadth the case of any one. By the all-seeing God, men will be judged by what they are in purity, in nobility, in love for Christ. MARANATHA, p.248 (AUG. 28th) God Bless! inheavenseyes |

inheavenseyes, Where does Scripture say Christ went to heaven for our restoration? ... or did I misunderstand when you said "the cleansing is not for Heaven but for our restoration" Searcher
