Yeah, I've heard that story for many years now... What most supporters of that theory seem to misunderstand is that the prophet is talking about a vision, a revelation that he has had about God's Divinity. The human mind is unable to grasp so many finite things (love, respect, friendship, obligations, life) and yet we want to discern that which is infinite (God's Power, Escense, Plans). Instead of searching for meaning (what the vision means, why was it given, why such aparition...) some of us seek a meaning that we can contain and discipher without needing the Creator's assistance! I think maybe it's also a way to harmonize the Bible with the evolutionary theory du jour that suggests life arrived on Earth from outer space. I think it's worthwhile to try to understand why science and the Bible often differ, but I don't think the "Ezekiel's UFO" Theory is a very productive approach. Correct! That is why Jesus was adamant when He offered us His peace, not the peace of the world; and He was very explicit when He warned "I am the vine" and that we are the "branches." And Timothy 6:3 warns that we are not to allow ourselves to be derailed from the Truth! God Bless! |
