2 | Why G_d? | Ex 20:7 | Makarios | 27188 | ||
Greetings Love Fountain! Some people say G-d or G_d or L_rd out of reverence, that is, that it would be almost blasphemous to say the name of God! Judiasm is a large respecter of God's Holy Name, and they have omitted the vowels, most notably in the name YAHWEH, as YHWH, as to not invite blasphemy by uttering the name of God, and therefore keeping themselves from the sin of taking the name of the Lord in vain. They do this out of reverence for His Holy Name. Blessings to you, Nolan |
