AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 20:7 ¶ "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain [that is, irreverently, in false affirmations or in ways that impugn the character of God]; for the LORD will not hold guiltless nor leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain [disregarding its reverence and its power]. |
Bible Question (short): unpardonable sin in Ex 20:7? |
Question (full): Matthew 12:31 talks about unpardonable sin. Can Ex 20:7 also refer to unpardonable sin? John Gill's commentary mentioned that the punishment if not in this life but the next life to come in the great judgment day (Targum of Jonathan). Thanks for your help for better understanding.
