The Millennium is literal. The fact that both the Tribulation and the Millennium are still future literal events gives assurance that mankind will not destroy itself by the use of nuclear or biological weapons. These prophesied events will occur; God is the sovereign executive of human history, and He keeps His promises. The Bible contains many prophecies that have already been fulfilled such as those about the birth of Christ. There is no reason not to take millennial prophecies just as literally.
