1 | Help! Unclean vs clean meat? | Acts | LRP2008 | 204902
My mother in law has been studying the bible religiously and she knows more than my wife and I as we barely study to be honest and need to get more into our bible study. She just recently told us over this weekend that she will not be eating anymore meat. We got into discussions about this and she said that all meat is Unclean and that she would not eat it any longer. However, she will still eat Eggs. I am really confused at this point and need to read and study for myself, but I wanted to find a forum to ask this question. What meats are considered Unclean and Clean, what what can we eat and should not eat according to GOD's word? She told us that fish is also unclean, but I read a passage that said, anything with a tail and scales is considered clean. My wife and I want to follow the laws of GOD, but we are confused. Can anyone that has come down this road help us out? What are your beliefs about Unclean and Clean meats? I have all the scriptures, but really need guidance. I will ultimately make the decision for my family but need some help understanding this all. Didn't Jesus eat 5 loaves and 2 fish? So how could it be unclean? |

2 | Help! Unclean vs clean meat? | Acts | AMO14 | 205127
LEV 11 outlines clean and unclean foods according to God. I do believe that you should follow what he has outlined in his Torah (Law). He created these animals and knows what should and should not be consumed by us. The Messiah followed and obeyed the Torah and instructed us as believers to do the same. I used to be confused with this same topic as well, but studying and obeying what I read and following has improved my health and life overall. I hope this helps a little bit.

Yes I think the clarity must come in for the reasons why one would follow the Torah (Law). The law is good for such things as health and morality. When it is bad is when people, not saying you, but people in general, condemn others for eating ham and snakes and other unclean things. Also when it is bad is when people try to be saved or another phrase is right with God or another go to heaven by keeping the law. The way to heaven is through Christ Jesus. We bring our sins to him before salvation and He cleans us of our sins. We are given His holy Spirit to help us be holy as He is holy. Holy in our walk by obeying His commandments and all that He says. All that we say and do is to glorify Him. The law was given to Israel when they came out of Egypt. It showed them how they should treat one another with respect. We still need to keep the moral laws. The ritual laws were fulfilled in Christ. He is our sacrifice for sin.- Blessings Val

Val, Well stated sis. If folks would just pick up the bible and read it a very large portion of thier question and or suppositions would be cleared up. You made a good point concerning health and morality. These are constants but won't guarantee salvation apart from Christ. Allot of times when people stat debating these kind of things I will direct them to Romans chapter 14. Things like in allot of cases will fall into the realm of disputable matters. It's much simpler than some folks make it out to be. In Him, lionheart |

Val, Dear sis you do have a way of cutting to the chase. I like it allot. God really has made it simple for us, but we get folks posting everyday that try to twist and mold things to thier own perspective instead of bringing thier perspective and understsnding up to the standard of God,s Word. In Him, lionheart |
