1 | Holy Spirit operatin our churches today? | Acts | walter777 | 198132
I believe that the Holy Spirit is in operation today in all the ways in which He was in the book of Acts. There is alot of folks that want to say that all the manifastations are ceased. God is going to use each of us as long as our faith allows Him too and our traditions and man's doctrines don't make the word of God void in our lives. I have personally seen people healed by the Holy Spirit using myself as a channel.I am able to work in several gifts as I allow God to work through me. We have to believe by faith that it can be done first of all. (To the nay sayer's) It's easy to say that you are saved but performing the actions described in Mark 16 is where the rubber meets the road. I affirm through my own testimony that the gifts are working today. God is flowing all the time we christians are the one's that aren't open to Him. He want's to heal but He is a Spirit and must use us through our born again spirit to touch other lives. Visit www.andrewwommack.org for some excellent teachings on the gifts.

Hello Walter, I can appreciate your passion for the gifts. Yet, even more so that we exalt and magnify the Giver of those gifts, the Lord Jesus Christ! He is preeminent, not the gifts (Col. 1:18)! No one can doubt your sincerity, but what really matters is not what you or I "believe" or what we affirm by our "testimonies". They can be deceiving. Rather, what does the Word of God affirm and teach about it (John 17:17). It is debatable whether the Holy Spirit is "operation today (exactly)in all the ways in which He was in the book of Acts". That is a metter of opinion. I think it far greater to seek the Lord and know Him than boast of miracles! (Phil. 3:10, Gal. 6:12 NASB)! Here's what I know and proclaim: "so that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD." (1 Cor. 1:31 NASB) "Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven." (Ps. 119:89 NASB) "For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." (1 Cor. 2:2 NASB) "For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake." (2 Cor. 4:5 NASB) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hello Brad, First of all let me say, What a good translation NASB.. I couldn't agree more when you say, "It is debatable whether the Holy Spirit is "operation today (exactly)in all the ways in which He was in the book of Acts". That is a metter of opinion. Remember our God never changes He is the same yesterday today and forever. As you know the Bible says, We Know in part 1 Cor 13:12 I think the most important thing is we share the love of God with each other and a world that has no life (peace, joy, happiness etc.). Based on 1 Corinthians 12 we should be using the tools that we have been given to lift each other up whenever possible and yes the Bible should be quoted by using such gifts as ex. prophecy to the edification of the Church by all its members that have that gift. This would allow the members to become active within the body. I think because the church leadership overall has elected not to use these gifts it has caused the body of Christ to become life less and with no power(looks like the world) as the Holy Spirit is used as an assurance for salvation only and that's it. Satan is happy with the way things are going overall he has sown much heartache but then he wants to steal kill and destroy(take away the authority that is God given) It is my hope and prayer that the Church overall can become more of an example to a lost world. God is not willing that any should perish. Thanks, Your brother in Christ |
