Hi, Robert... We conclude our prayers in Jesus' name because He is the sole mediator between man and God (1 Timothy 2:5) -- not simply because it is a traditional formula. It is through the atonement of Christ alone that we approach the throne (Hebrews 4:4-14), clothed in His righteousness. The Holy Spirit is actively involved in our prayers, for it is by His power that our hearts have been transformed to even desire God's will (Romans 8:13-14). Furthermore, the Holy Spirit interprets our fumbling prayers to those things that please the Father (Romans 8:26). Now think about it a bit for yourself, and ask why it is we bring our supplications to the first Person of our Triune God, the Father. In Him, Doc |

We pray to God knowing Jesus is our intercessor who has assured us that, what we ask for in His name He will do. Be ever mindful The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are God. The Son Jesus Christ is what gives us entrance or access to God, He is our mediator, our intercessor, All Authority has been given to Him. We speak to the Father by way of Jesus. |
