1 | When did God create angels? | Gen 1:1 | Searcher56 | 19897
When did God create angels? I know that Lydzen started one 02/28/01, but, I think we need to start one again. Did God create angels before Gen 1:1? Did God create angels between Gen 1:1 and verse 2? Did He create them during the six days of creation ... if so which day? Is there another choice .. if so, what? |

2 | When did God create angels? | Gen 1:1 | Lionstrong | 20018
Dear Steve, To say that God created ANY heavenly being at any other time, except during the six day period is to deny that God made EVERYTHING IN THE HEAVENS in the space of six days. Ex 20:11 Peace, Lionstrong |

3 | When did God create angels? | Gen 1:1 | Jensen | 20281
Dear Lionstrong...Perhaps, just perhaps.... God did create angels prior to Gen 1:1. That, for me, is thinking way outside the box. I have always agreed with the position that you hold. But, for purposes of discussion, Steve asks a good question. Ex 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day." What makes us think that the angels were part of the heaven creation? Angels came to the earth part of creation, could they not have come to the heaven part of creation also? Does this sound stupid? Since I have always thought of the angels as being from heaven I never considered that angels may have existed earlier than the period we call creation. The text does not specify when angels were created unless they were part of the heaven creation. Just some thoughts :-) God Bless....Jensen |

Now that's an interesting thought, Jensen, angels not a part of this creation. Of course there's absolutely no support for it in Scripture. But it might do for a "thought experiment," as one Christian philosopher used to put it. Peace, Lionstrong |
