61 | Why did God tell Abraham to kill his son | Gen 22:2 | Vintage68 | 214878
Hi bibleman From what took place at the end of that story about Abraham, we can determine that God did not have any intention in letting Abraham go through with the sacrifice of his son. If Abraham did not do what God had said, he would have failed the test. Thereby no death of Isaac. But in the last second, when Abraham had determined in his heart, to sacrifice his son, to God. That is when God stopped him, providing a sacrifice instead of Isaac. No death of Isaac God knows the thoughts, and intentions of the heart, when Abraham fully intended to carry out what he had been commanded to do by God, that is when he was stopped. His intent then was not to kill any chances of Gods promise of coming to fruition, but rather his intention was to trust in God, and the promise, in spite of any doubt he may have had. Obedience is better than sacrifice, especially in this case. 1 Chronicles 28:9 Romans 8:27 Vintage68 |

Hi Pattycake I personally have come to the conclusion, that the Whore, Mystery Babylon, the Woman, are all Israel, with Jerusalem as the Capitol. In the book of Revelation,17:3-9 it says that the seven mountains, are seven heads, not literal mountains. That kind of disqualifies Rome in any way. Vintage68 |

Hi humility To say we are stewards over the things that God has given us, is a bit of a misnomer. Steward - Stewardship Primarily signifies "the management of a household or of household affairs" a steward, (the management or administration of the property of others), thus "a stewardship," as in Luke 16:2-4 Every mention of a person, in regard to being a steward, or having a stewardship in the Bible, refers to a person that takes care of the belongings of others. (Old, and New Testaments) Therefore when we say, we are to be the faithful stewards of the Lord, we are only referring to the Spiritual things the Lord has entrusted into our care. Because we are servants, (slaves) in his household. Luke 12:42 1 Corinthians 4:1,2 Titus 1:7 1 Peter 4:10 Vintage68 |

Hi Rajeeb This is the short answer. Intercourse outside the bonds of marriage is fornication. That goes for everyone, whether you will be getting married or not. So the answer to your question is "YES" it is sin. Now as far as your thoughts, Jesus answered that himself. Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Vintage68 |

71 | i need the explanation on 1 peter 4:12 | 1 Pet 4:13 | Vintage68 | 214532
Hi tricia1 Rom.8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 2 Cor.1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 2 Cor.1:7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. Phil.3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Heb.2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 1 Pet.4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Matt.21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. Matt.5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matt.5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matt.5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matt.5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matt.23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Gal.4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. So your answer is 1Pet.4:12,13,14 12.) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13.) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14.) If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. Vintage68 |

72 | are there female amgels? | Matt 22:30 | Vintage68 | 214418
Hi carlygrips “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.” If angels do not procreate, there is no need for gender, at least not in the sense of human gender distinctions. We will be doing other things after the resurrection, it will not be about us any more. The whole thrust of our existence in heaven for all eternity will be the worshiping of God. As far as the angels procreating, they don't, and we won't either after the resurrection. Can you imagine the spiritual implications of that possibility? To say that the angels then have "no need for a gender, at least not in the sense of human gender distinctions." That statement is then saying angels do in fact have a gender, but different than ours, which would then be a (non - gender - gender). In a similar manner, God always refers to Himself in masculine language, although God is neither male nor female. He just uses masculine language because it more adequately describes who He is and what He does, especially in the patriarchal cultures in which the Bible was written. God does always refer to himself in the masculine, because of the pure fact "HE" is masculine. God can use any kind of language He wants to describe who He is, and what He does, He also chose to call himself Father instead of Mother. To say we call Him (HIM) because "in the patriarchal cultures in which the Bible was written." That statement comes about as close as you can to saying, "Man Created God in His Own Image". Are there patriarchal societies, because they evolved that way? Or because GOD chose to create a Man to be over the Woman? Which came first the chicken or the egg? If angels do have a gender, in some form, Scripture would indicate that they are predominately or universally male. It is more likely that angels are genderless, just as God is, and that masculine language is just used to describe them and their role in serving God. Scripture not only would, but does indicate that angels are not only predominately, but solely male. To be saying that God is gender-less is just wrong. Then saying it all comes down to language is as wrong. John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath (seen me hath seen the Father); and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: (for one is your Father), which is in heaven. John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, (and the Father) that sent me beareth witness of me. John 10:30 (I and my Father are one). John 17:21 That they all may be one; (as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee), that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. We can clearly see from the mouth of Jesus Himself that He has a Father. Jesus also has a mother, but she was flesh. The Holy Spirit is the seed of God that has given us life as it did Jesus. To say that it is all just because of language is therefore just wrong. There are therefore no female angels. And God created the chicken. Hope this helps Vintage68 |

HI asilra Your theory sounds pretty good about Goliath, except that everyone died in the flood. Except Noah and his family, and there isn't any scripture to say that they were giants. So I guess it's back to the drawing board for that one :-( As far as the second part of your question, you said "Humanity at this point reminds be of an infant, controlled by what feels good/bad, easily swayed by others, and still learning about him/herself and the environment thru trial and error." I don't really see that much difference between them and us today, I guess were still learning. 74 | Buddha statue in a house of a christian. | Bible general Archive 4 | Vintage68 | 214387
Hi chumba Understanding the buddha I submit this to you, in the hope you will better be able to understand, just what "IS" wrong with a Christian having a buddha in their house. The buddha is the embodiment of everything, that vaunts itself against the knowledge of God. This statue, no matter how benignly we may look at it is (Anti God - Anti Christ). It is beyond me how Satan has managed to deceive Christians so much as to have them believe, that something is only art, or decoration. He did the same thing years ago, by getting Christians to believe the Ouija board was only a child's game. Would you go out and by , strictly for decorative purposes, pictures, or statues of ( Muhammad, Krishna, Vishnu) if your answer is a resounding "NO" then you have answered your own question. This is what our part should be. 2 Cor. 10:5 5.) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Buddha is not worshipped as god, deva, nor prophet or messenger of God but a (human guru) ( teacher) who had gained enlightenment. A typical misconception tends to link Buddha as the Buddhist counterpart of “God”; however, Buddhism is non-theistic, i.e., in general it does not teach the existence of a supreme creator god or depend on any supreme being for enlightenment; Buddha is a guide and teacher who points the way. The commonly accepted definition of the term "God" describes a being that not only rules but actually created the universe. Such ideas and concepts are disputed by Buddha and Buddhists in many Buddhist discourses. In Buddhism, the supreme origin and creator of the universe is not a god, but Avidya (ignorance). Buddhists try to dispel this darkness through constant practice, wisdom and compassion (known as prajna). Source wikipedia I Really Hope that this Helps you Vintage68 |

75 | can Satan plant thoughts into our minds? | 1 Pet 5:8 | Vintage68 | 214341
Hi heseeshisson From your question, there are two different ways to answer it. 1.) As it would relate to all humans (mankind) (unsaved). To say that Satan can do the things you ask about, it doesn't specifically say in the Bible. But there are things it does say, so we are able to get a more clear picture, of the full extent of the activities of Satan. In Gen.3 "the temptation of Eve". Satan didn't actually (implant) the thoughts that drove Eve to eating the fruit, but he was most certainly responsible for them. From the narrative, Satan can speak to us, albeit in our hearts, minds. This means he has the ability to influence our thoughts. Just by the act of asking Eve a question, he influenced her to question what God had said. So "NO" he doesn't implant thoughts, he doesn't have to. All he has to do, is lie to us, showing us the options we have, by exerting our free will, exciting our baser nature, making things appear very appealing, seducing, drawing us by our fleshly desires (Temptation). Looking at 2 Tim. 2:26 you will see that we as humans can be "taken captive by him at his will". 2.) Then there is the question of how does Satan influence Christians? The answer to that would be found in 1 Pet. 5:8-10. It says that Satan is a as a lion to all mankind, he will never leave us alone, as long as we are here on the earth. But we, because we are saved, can acquire the knowledge to resist him being sober, vigilant, and steadfast in the faith. Peter then tells us that after we have "suffered a while, God will make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you" The following is a list of places that Satan is spoken about, thereby giving you more of a picture of his activities. Easton's Bible Dictionary Adversary; accuser. When used as a proper name, the Hebrew word so rendered has the article "the adversary" (Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7). In the New Testament it is used as interchangeable with the devil, and is so used more than thirty times. Following are other names for Satan: "the adversary" (Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7). "the accuser" of the brethern" (Revelation 12:10); "the dragon," "the old serpent" (Revelation 12:9; 20:2); " the devil" (Hebrews 2:14). "the prince of this world" (John 12:31; 14:30); "the prince of the power of the air" (Ephesians 2:2); "the god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4); "the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience" (Ephesians 2:2). "Beelzebub, the prince of the devils" (12:24). He is a "roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Men are said to be "taken captive by him" (2 Timothy 2:26). Christians are warned against his "devices" (2 Corinthians 2:11), and called on to "resist" him (James 4:7). He tempted our Lord in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). The distinct personality of Satan and his activity among men are thus obviously recognized. He is "the constant enemy of God, of Christ, of the divine kingdom, of the followers of Christ, and of all truth; full of falsehood and all malice, and exciting and seducing to evil in every possible way." His power is very great in the world. Christ redeems his people from "him that had the power of death." Satan has the "power of death," not as lord, but simply as executioner. Noah Webster's New International Dictionary of the English Language The grand adversary of man; the Devil, or Prince of darkness; the chief of the fallen angels; the archfiend. Vintage68 |

76 | Soul the mind and Spirit the emotions? | Bible general Archive 4 | Vintage68 | 214326
Hi heseeshisson Discerning Between Soul and Spirit The difference between the spiritual and the soulish, are illustrated in the following table: Language - - - Noun - - - Adjective Greek - - - pneuma - - -pneumatikos English - - - spirit - - - spiritual Greek - - - psuche - - - psuchikos English - - - soul - - - soulish The Greek word for spirit is (pneuma), from which we get the English word pneumatic. That is because (pneuma means "breath," "wind" and "spirit.") The adjective from (pneuma is pneumatikos) spiritual. Next we come to the Greek word for "soul," and here is the problem: The Greek word for soul is (psuche,) from which we get countless different words like (psychiatrist or psychological or psychosomatic.) So then we see that a psychiatrist is a doctor (of the soul,) The Greek word for doctor, is (iatros) The translation of the noun is "soul." But what about the adjective? The problem is that English does not have a word "soulish." In German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian - all those languages have a word for "soulish." But English is limping along without the necessary word to convey this very important distinction. In the New Testament where the word psuchikos or "soulish" should have been used I will try to draw out the difference between spiritual and soulish. There are three cases where the word "soulish" is applied to the physical body, which is perhaps a little hard to understand. I looked at a few different translations, and I found various words that are used in these versions to translate this word psuchikos. 1.) King James - - "natural" or "sensual." 2.) New King James - - "natural" or "sensual." But in the margin, they use "worldly." 3.) The New American Standard - - "natural" in the margin "unspiritual." and "worldly minded." 4.) The New International Version - - "without the spirit," "natural," "unspiritual," and the phrase "follow their natural instinct." You see then in the English translations, we really cannot grasp this vital distinction between that which is (spiritual and that which is soulish). The three cases where soulish is applied to a body, in 1 Corinthians 15:44 (twice) and 46.(once) Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:44, referring to the resurrection: It is sown a natural body (a soulish body), it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural (soulish body), and there is a spiritual body. You will notice there is always the contrast between the (soulish and the spiritual). There is a (soulish body) and there is a spiritual body. Then in verse 46, Paul says: However the spiritual is not first, but the natural (soulish), and afterward the spiritual. Our present body is (soulish). Our resurrection body will be spiritual. In the resurrection we will have a body like Jesus. That means we will no longer be controlled by our physical body. Our spirit will simply decide where to go, what to say, what to do, and it will happen. It will be a body controlled by the spirit. A spiritual body is a body which is directly motivated and controlled by the spirit. Those are the three cases where the word psuchikos is used of a body. No English translation that I know of uses the word soulish. Consequently, the distinction is obscured. In other places where this word psuchikos is used. We come to a point where there is a clear conflict between the soulish and the spiritual. I Corinthians 2:14-15: But the natural man (soulish man) does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one. So, the (soulish man) is not in harmony with the Spirit. He cannot receive the things of the Spirit; he cannot understand them. The most highly-educated intellects of our time have no ability whatever to understand the things of the Spirit, because they are operating in the realm of the (soul). It is important to understand that there is an opposition between the (spiritual and the soulish) Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. In the epistle of Jude, verse 19, which is a rather illuminating verse. Talks about people who have made trouble in the church, the NKJ says: These are (sensual persons), who cause divisions, not having the Spirit (capital "s"). They are obviously, part of the church because they cause division. So we have in the church both those who are (spiritual and those who are soulish). excerpts from Discerning Between Soul and Spirit by - - - Derek Prince Hoping this will be of help to you Vintage68 |

77 | Soul the mind and Spirit the emotions? | Bible general Archive 4 | Vintage68 | 214320
Hi heseeshisson To be answering your question, it comes down to more a question of (Translation). “soulish” is a sound biblical word (2 Timothy 1:13), which when properly used can be easily appreciated. It is an adjective that accurately describes your body, as distinct from a spiritual body. Your body, flesh, soul, and spirit are all distinguished in Scripture with great precision, but not always in translations. We are soulish by nature but we do not possess a solely fleshly nature. Flesh is what makes up the body. The body is the structure of our flesh. The flesh alone has no thinking capacity, but the flesh which makes up the body (“body of flesh,” Colossians 1:22, 2:11, cf. Ephesians 5:30) does have needs such as hunger, thirst, weariness, pain, a need for sleep, etc. The flesh communicates those needs in a very efficient manner. Our soul (a combination of the body and spirit in man, Genesis 2:7, 1 Corinthians 15:45) is what gives us our consciousness and personality. It is our soul which is subject to judgment. Of course, the word “nature” is not used in the Bible as we use it today in common English to denote “human nature.” The word “soulish” best translates the Greek word psuchikos. It is the adjective of the noun “soul” which should always be translated from psuche. How else would anyone translate the adjective psuchikos except “soulish”? However, the word is translated with all-too-common KJV confusion as ”natural” 4x and “sensual” 2x. Describing our nature as a “soulish nature” is very accurate. The following verse translations use the adjective “natural” or “sensual” but the Greek word is psuchikos, meaning “soulish,” derived directly from the root noun psuche or soul. “But the natural (psuchikos, soulish) man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14 “It (the body) is sown a natural (psuchikos, soulish) body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural (psuchikos, soulish) body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul (psuche, soul); the last Adam was made a quickening spirit (pneuma, spirit). Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural (psuchikos, soulish); and afterward that which is spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 15:44–46 “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual (psuchikos, soulish), devilish.” James 3:13–15 “These be they (mockers) who separate themselves, sensual (psuchikos, soulish), having not the Spirit.” Jude 1:19 You will note that in these verses the adjective “soulish” qualifies and describes the nouns “man,” “body,” “wisdom,” and “mockers” (in Jude 1:18). There is a precise distinction between the soul and the spirit which is made more explicit by the proper understanding of “soulish.” The Greek adjective “soulish” (psuchikos) is different from the usual King James rendering of “nature” which is derived from the Greek phusis. Most often phusis is associated with the flesh or fleshly nature. from - - - David Sielaff Associates for Scriptural Knowledge I have something else for you -- Vintage68 |

79 | Actual bodies in heaven? | 1 John 3:2 | Vintage68 | 213939
hi live4jc316 Let's look at what scripture has to say on the matter. Brackets have been added for emphasis Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to (become conformed to the image of His Son,) so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be We know that when He appears, (we will be like Him,) because we will see Him just as He is. 1 Corinthians 15:34-58 34 Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God I speak this to your shame. 35 But someone will say, ("How are the dead raised?) (And with what kind of body do they come?") 36 You fool! (That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;) 37 and that which you sow, (you do not sow the body which is to be,) but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 (But God gives it a body just as He wished,) (and to each of the seeds a body of its own.) 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, (but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another.) 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead (It is sown a perishable body,) (it is raised an imperishable body;) 43 (it is sown in dishonor,) (it is raised in glory;) (it is sown in weakness,) (it is raised in power;) 44 (it is sown a natural body,) (it is raised a spiritual body.) (IF THERE IS A NATURAL BODY,) (THERE IS ALSO A SPIRITUAL BODY.) 45 So also it is written, "The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL " The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; (then the spiritual.) 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; (the second man is from heaven.) 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; (and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.) 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, (we will also bear the image of the heavenly.) 50 Now I say this, brethren, (that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;) (nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, (but we will all be changed,) 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, (and we will be changed.) 53 (For this perishable must put on the imperishable,) and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 (But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable,) and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55 "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Now having heard scripture, we know anything else is speculation. If God wanted us to know what it would be like he would have told us. Gods Love Vintage68 |

80 | The people that never heard of Jesus? | Rom 1:20 | Vintage68 | 213835
skasian From what you are asking, I do not believe Romans1:18-20 answers that question. Let me explain why I believe these verses do not answer you. In these three verses you can only see the severity of God, as Paul says the Wrath of God. But we know that Gods Wrath is always tempered with His Mercy, that is what were looking for. The 3 verses given are only addressing the issue of God being seen (a belief in a supreme creator.) But if you go back in this chapter to the 3 previous verses 15 - 17 you will see Paul addressing the issue you are concerned about. Romans1:15-17 15) So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. These 3 verses speak of Jesus. The gospel of Christ is what Paul brought to the Romans. Explaining the righteousness of God and how he grants salvation to everyone that believes. BUT Anyone that has not ever had the chance to hear the Gospel, or to accept Jesus as their personal savior. They fall under a different provision of God for the express circumstance you are describing.
