3 | Satan said I will how many times? | Bible general Archive 2 | Glory Bound | 134272
I suspect the answer to your question would depend heavily on which version of the Bible one uses. Though only a few are truly inspired, there are many. too many. GB |

4 | Can somebody explain world ending? | 2 Tim 3:1 | Glory Bound | 134270
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,... 2Ti 3:1-2 You ask a question to which there is no answer. I'm sure, however that there are many "Gloom and Doomers" which would be glad to tell you a story, their vision of such a thing as the end of the world. The truth of the matter is that there is no mention of "an ending of the world" in scripture. There is, however, which tells us what will happen prior to, and when "the passing of this world as we now know it" takes place. Read Mark, chapter 13 for a glimpse. You may wish to consider reading Tim LaHaye's series "Left Behind." It is an excellent series that is true to the book of Revelations. The last book in that series, coupled with my bible, and a good computer bible search program, was a gold mine of info for me. GB |

6 | If you live right, you are rewarded? | 1 John 1:9 | Glory Bound | 134262
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS. Mat 16:27 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Heb 6:4-6 GB |

7 | Getting closer to the Creator | 2 Tim 2:15 | Glory Bound | 134168
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 2Ti 2:15-16 I would recommend the book of James. Read it 7 times. You may wish to purchase "How to study The Bible for Yourself" by Tim LaHaye. You wil truly be enriched by this book. GB |

8 | Born of the water means? | John 3:5 | Glory Bound | 134166
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. A twofold explanation of the "new birth," so startling to Nicodemus. To a Jewish ecclesiastic, so familiar with the symbolical application of water, in every variety of way and form of expression, this language was fitted to show that the thing intended was no other than a thorough spiritual purification by the operation of the Holy Ghost. 11 | How did God use circumstances.... | Acts 16:27 | Glory Bound | 134151
If the jailer had killed himself, he could have never known the saving grace of God. It is quiet likely that the fact that all the prisoners were still present, was a strong indication of the truth of Christianity to the jailer. A positive, and powerful influence. GB |

12 | Peacemakers and Politics? | Bible general Archive 2 | Glory Bound | 134058
The candidate I am sure you refer to as not being a peace maker, is doing the same thing you would do if someone who would not listen to reason were killing children elsewhere and trying to kill your children. I am sure you would fight for their lives to your last drop of blood. Wouldn't you? What is the difference? On the other hand, the other candidate who pretends to be a peace maker, advocates murder in the form of abortion, as well as the abomination of same sex marriage. If you were to vote for one who advocates such, you would be just as guilty as is the doctor who sucks the cranial matter (brains) out of the tiny, partially born, helpless, unwanted, infant, or the so called preacher who claims to unite two men or two women in the bonds of what can only be refered to as "unholy" matrimony. 13 | Did God create evil? | Gen 1:31 | Glory Bound | 133916
God created man. Rather than following Gods one simple rule,(not to eat of the forbidden fruit,) man chose to disobey. Thus the evil of Satan took root. It has flourished ever since. In the beginning, man knew no evil. Through disobediance, his eyes were opened. Through hard headedness, many still choose to follow their own "free will," thinking that they are smarter than God. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that God saw that man was incapiable of maintaining an obediant nature. He sent His Son to pay the price for mans disobediance. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Romans 6:23 and John 3:15 The above is the good news. It is also the bad news. For, what are the wages of sin? And what is it that one must do that they should not perish? It is bad news to those who do not believe, for if they do not accept the gift of Gods Son, then they themselves must pay that debt... GB |

14 | Was Paul speaking a believer or not one | Rom 7:15 | Glory Bound | 133913
This is my favorite passage in Romans. Paul was most assuredly speaking as a believer. He was pointing out the battle that goes on in most believers. The battle between the sinful flesh, the lusts thereof, and the Godly desire for righteousness in the mind and soul of the believer. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. These rulers are not only external, but only too often they are internal. GB |

15 | Jesus' resurrected body? | John 20:27 | Glory Bound | 133911
With the exception of the infirmities inflicted, Jesus' resurrected body was as it was while he walked on earth. It is apparent that though he bore no ailments, he did bare the scars thereof. John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. He was inviting "doubting" Thomas to check out the nail holes in His hands; the hole in His side made by the soldier with his spear when they removed him from the cross, and to BELIEVE. GB |

17 | a more revealing light. | 1 John 2:3 | Glory Bound | 132830
Thanks folks. I appreciate your responses. It took little more than for me to open my bible, for me to remember the following. I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. So then it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. Romans 7:15-25.NIV I pray this passage will be as strenthtening to others as it, and your posts are to me. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. GB |
