21 | What does Matthew 10:13 mean? | Matt 10:13 | C.S.M. | 156726
Hi Kings Child, Matt 10:13 is nestled in the instructions Jesus is giving to his disciples and is one of his "training" sessions. They walked with him for 3 1/2 years observing and experiencing the workings of the Holy Spirit through Jesus. See when Jesus was baptized of God the Father, with the God the Holy Spirit. John 1:25-36. Note it was God the Father that baptized Jesus, God the Son,and told John about it. God identified how John would be able to know the Son of God, in that the Holy Spirit would decend and remain on God the Son, which was Jesus. The point being, Jesus did everything he did on earth as a man, not as the all powerful Son of God Heb 2:9-18. He came as our example so that the "works that I do shall you do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father:" John 14:12. Jesus also said, "the comforter..the Holy Ghost..whom THE FATHER will send in my name, shall teach you all things, and bring all thing to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you." John 14:26 How do we know Jesus was training them and why was he training them? Because after his resurrection, Jesus told them you disciples go, "teaching them to observe (or do) all thngs..I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt 28:20 They were to teach believers for all ages how to do exactly what Jesus did while he was on the earth. If Jesus had done what he did as the Son of God, no human could do the things he did. But he did what he did as a human being filled with the Holy Spirit and power. Acts 10:38 so that future believers could follow his example as he commanded his eleven disciples to train them. Therefore when in Matt 10:13 he said, "And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you." he was speaking of discerning by the Holy Spirit if the people in that house would receive their message from God, and if they would not, they would know in their human spirits by the Holy Spirit not to go into the house or to be prepared for whatever was there before them. Paul made it clear by Ro 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." The Spirit of God is our guide in every area of our life and lifestyle, as we remain sensitive to his leading. He will tell you when to stop, go, don't stop, don't go, whatever you need at the time. Jesus was making them aware of the Holy Spirits leading and how to discern his leading. If they felt uneasy, don't go. There peace would return to them and they could ask God where to go, what to do, when etc. Always in Chirst, C.S.M. |

22 | What is a cult? | Matt 16:15 | C.S.M. | 154981
Dear truthfinder, Your name is the answer! John 17:17 Jesus says speaking to God the Father, "Sanctify them through your truth: your word IS TRUTH" The problem with mankind is we're looking for truth in all the wrong places! It's not in the world, mankind, ourselves and definitely NOT in the devil! Jesus identified the source of truth: God the Father! Jesus identified the place we can find the truth: The written word of God! Jesus identified what the word of God will do in the life of mankind, it will sanctify them! To get the full import of the study of God's word we must grasp a central fact, there are three kinds of word that apply to the word, "word". The living word is: Jesus Christ The written word is: The Bible The spoken word is: our agreement with the Bible and our agreement with the living Word, Jesus. The world's system of thought, word and deed, are in direct opposition to God and his Son, Jesus Christ, if you have noticed. Anything that does not agree with God has to be a lie, based on what Jesus said to God the Father, "Your word IS TRUTH". Because that is true, then what difference does it make what any man says, if they do not agree with God, through the Bible, which is God's truth? God has all the truth there is, mankind has theories "about" God. God doesn't just know some truth, HE IS TRUTH, himself. Jesus is the exact image of God and he said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" John 14:6, Heb 1:3. This fact will dissolve all of your questions about "who" is telling the truth! The Bible says about God, "God is not a man, that he should lie" Num 23:19, and Heb 6:18 "It is impossible for God to lie"... Here is the only source of pure, untainted, truth there is, in the written word, concerning the living word, so we can get our spoken word in line with God the Father, who is THE TRUTH! That's enough to make you shout! A cult? Any person, place or thing that does not think, speak, and do the word of Gods truth, the Bible, through Jesus Christ, by the power of God! Dear Obi1Kanobi, Matt 16:13-20 The question it asks is: Whom do YOU (obi1Kanobi)say that I am? It is always a personal question to each person who reads the question. Notice verse 16 Peter answered,"you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." Christ means Messiah, the anointed One sent from God, God's Son. Notice he wasn't sent as the son of the dead god. Understanding that God is Eternal (which means he has always existed, is existing now, and will always exist)then we know that his Son, Jesus, is also Eternal. Does anyone fully understand from forever to forever, never ending, or eternal? No! And they won't until they stand before the judgement seat of Christ, then it will be very apparent. But that is not the question asked! Who do you, personally, say that Jesus is? Do you say he is the Son of God? Is he alive today? Can he forgive your sins? Will he save you? Will you do what he says? Will you believe what he says? Will you go where he says to go? Will you say what he tells you to say? Does he have a purpose for your life? Does he want to be a part of your life? Do you want to be a part of his life? Notice Verse 17..Jesus told Peter, "You are blessed, Simon Barjona (i.e. son of jona): (Why?) for flesh and blood has NOT revealed it unto you, but my Father (has revealed it unto you, is the implied meaning)which is in heaven. " So then, The REVELATION from God the Father, as to who Jesus is, is the Rock that Jesus will build HIS CHURCH and the gates of hell SHALL NOT prevail (win over) the church..... If you will receive it, the whole Bible is God's revelation knowledge on every subject pertaining to mankind, God, satan, the how to's of the Christian life, the discerner of the hearts and minds of all people.Heb 4:12 He knows you whether you know him or not, he reads you like a book! He doesn't want us to trust another person to teach us, he wants to teach us personally. You can have God as your teacher, if you ask him to teach you, show you, reveal Jesus to you, personally. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let HIM (obi1Kanobi), ASK of God, that gives to all (mankind) liberally, and unbraids (scolds or scorns) NOT; and IT SHALL BE GIVEN HIM." What shall be given him? Wisdom from God to understand God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit. What was the process for you to get this information?Ask God for it, you Obi1Kanobi, personally need to ask God the questions you are asking other people! Other people are in the same boat you are in. They don't know all the answers. But guess what! God formed the questions, and he knows all the answers, and he is willing to share them with you, If You A.S.K. The ball is in your court, are you going to make a basket and ask God? Always In Christ, C.S.M. It is for you to find out the answer, based on what the word of God says about this man, called Jesus Christ! |

Obi1Kanobi, The foundation: ICor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is: Jesus Christ. The process of salvation: Ro 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaks.... Deut 30:11-14 in your mouth AND in your heart Ro 10:9 but what (does faith)say? The word is near you, even in YOUR mouth, and in your heart: that is the word of faith (Almighty God himself), which we preach; (9) That IF YOU shall confess (say) with your mouth, that Jesus is Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you (obi1Kanobi) shall be saved. (10) For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the MOUTH confession (or saying the same thing God says) is made unto salvation." If a person doesn't ask God to save him, then believe God saved him, then say God saved him, you don't want to be standing in front of the judgement seat. Why? Because you would be sent to hell because you didn't do what God said to do in the verses above. Just do it, you have to ask, believe, and say, according to the word of God, to be saved. Just do it! 25 | only real commandment??? | Matt 22:1 | C.S.M. | 155551
Matt 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. I see this as the hinges to a door, love God, and love your neighbor. When the hinges to the door are in place it takes care of the opening of the door into God's presence. God is love, he doesn't just have love. Everything he does is motivated by love, and he wants his children transformed into his image. If our motivation for everything we think, say and do is love, we won't oppose the one true God, and we won't steal, kill or destroy our neighbor. In essence he's saying, love is the weight bearer in the kingdom of heaven and on earth. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

26 | Meaning of John 3 verse 8? | John 3:8 | C.S.M. | 156627
Hi Kings child, John 3:8, is speaking concerning the Spirit of God, that God would send "after" Jesus was raised from the dead. The Holy Spirit can't be seen, only his effects can be seen, such as the wind blowing the branches of a tree. We can feel the wind, we can see it's effects, but we cannot physically "see" the wind. John 1:25-36 gives the order in which God would send the Holy Spirit, by whom he would send him, and who would baptize with the HOly Spirit. John said,"God told him Jesus would be manifest to Israel" John 1:31..It was God the Father that sent John and had given him the instructions he related in this scripture. John 1:29 tells us that John said, "Behold the lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world." How did he know that? God had to have told him how to identify Jesus. How do we know? God must have told John how to identify the true Son of God, because John saw something, that God must have told him! John 1:32-33 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descend from LIKE a dove, and it stayed on him. And I knew him not (as the son of God); but he (God the Father) that sent me to baptize with water, the same (God the Father) said unto me, upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which "baptizes (not with water but)with the Holy Ghost." Who was this that John saw the Holy Spirit descend upon? John 1:34, 36, I saw and bear record (testify) that this is the Son of God. looking upon Jesus as he walked , he said, Behold the Lamb of God. So Jesus was speaking of the Spirit of God in John 3:8 and continued to speak of him througout his teachings in the four gospels and demonstrate the gifts of the Spirit in his ministry through him..You may be surprised to know that Jesus said, John 4:34 "I came to do the will of him that sent me.." John 5:19 "the Son can do nothing of himself.." John 5:30 "I can of my own seld do nothing", John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickens (makes alive); the flesh profits nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life"..John 7:16 "My doctrine is not mine, but his (God the Father) that sent me.".. John 12:50 "And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me so I speak." Jesus didn't do his own will or speak his own words, he spoke what God through the Holy Spirit told him to say and do. Why? John 13:15 "I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you." Of course this is in the context of the washing of feet of the disciples, but it would also be true of everything Jesus said and did while he was with his students or disciples..How do we know? John 14:12 "I say unto you, he that BELIEVES on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father." He didn't demonstrate these things for his benefit, but for the benefit of all believers for all time and throughout all eternity. Jesus didn't need to learn any of these things, mankind did need to learn, so he demonstrated them through his life and lifestyle, in his obedience to God and his walking in The directions of the Holy Spirit that indwelt him, just like every believer today and forever will have to walk. John 14:16 Jesus tells all believers, and those standing there with him, "I will pray (ask) the Father; and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you FOREVER." Even the Spirit of truth..(the Holy Spirit)..." The Holy Spirit is our guide into all the truth as you finish reading John chapters 13: 14: 15: 16: 17:... Jesus was giving them the instructions so when he by God the Father sent the Holy Spirit, they would not be surprised, and they would accept his ministry to them as John 1:33-36 tell us. What did it say? God would send the Holy Spirit on Jesus and Jesus would (after his resurrection) baptize with the Holy Ghost, not with water as John was doing. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

27 | Evidence of the Holy Spirit | John 3:8 | C.S.M. | 156655
Hi Pastor K, John 3:10 Jesus said, "Are you a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?" He further stated "you receive not our witness" I'm not sure where you are headed so in the context of your full question, I will share what I see scripturally. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the God head, or Trinity..I John 5:7..There are three that bear record (testimony) in heaven, the Father (God the Father). the Word (Jesus, who is God the Living Word), and the Holy Ghost (God the Holy Ghost): and these three are one. That they are one is not the question to ask, but how are they one. I've heard for years by some that God plays three different parts, or wears three different hats, in different settings but is one, suggesting that God is in essence one physical body. That is not scriptural. Jesus, our ultimate teacher and example, explained that God is not like a physical body, John 4:24, but rather, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth." That one truth eliminates the theory of God doing three jobs in one physical body. The second evidence of this fact Jesus stated in John 17:11 in his prayer just before the crucifiction, "keep through thine own name those whom you have given me, (why?) that they may be ONE as we are (one)." If mankind is to be one as he and the Father are one it has to be in some other form than one physical body. Otherwise all mankind would be one big ball, with millions of heads, arms, and legs sticking out of the ball in all directions. That cannot be the oneness he was talking about if we are to be "one" as he and the Father are "one". Evidence three, Gen 2:24, When Adam stated, "a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be ONE flesh." We know the statement "one flesh" didn't mean they, each individual person, would melt together and have two heads, four arms, and four legs, but would be joined together by covenant. Each of them being single units, not melted blobs. Gen 2:23 The covenant, "Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man." God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, made the whole plan for mankind, "before" they created one grain of sand or one blade of grass. God has never had a "whoops, I didn't know that, kind of day." Gen 1:27-28, Jesus never tells mankind to do anything he does not practice himself, or that he does not want mankind to do themselves. Luke 14:28 he tells us, " which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first, and counts the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?" If he tells us to do that, we automatically know that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, had everything planned "before" the world was even started, and they knew they had abundant supply to finish what they started, in fact more abundantly! John 10:10 God had the order of appearance arranged. The Old Testament is the Revelation of God the Father to the Israelites, and to the world system, with the promise of the Messiah to come. The New Testament, particularly the four Gospels, is Jesus, God the Son, leveling the playing field of all of mankind, eliminating the "partition", "alienation", and hopelessness of being"without God in this world" to both the Jew and Gentiles. Eph 2:11-16 and reconciled both (Jew and Gentile all of the people of the earth) to God, making "One" new man, called the church. Eph 2:18 For through him (Jesus, the baptizer in the Holy Ghost John 1:33-36)we both (Jew and Gentile) have access by one (Holy) Spirit unto (God) the Father. This is the scriptural order, ordained of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, before the foundation of the world. I trust this was what you were asking. Always In Christ, C.S.M. |

28 | Who exactly is Jesus referring to | John 3:11 | C.S.M. | 156694
Hi Bows 44, John 3:11 Since Jesus had not died for mankinds sins yet, or been raised from the dead and ascended into heaven to sit at God's right hand, and the Holy Ghost had not yet been sent from God the Father, through Jesus his Son, to indwell believers, no one had been "born again" yet. This was called the glorification of Jesus. John 7:38-39 Jesus said, "He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this he spake of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was NOT YET given (why?) because that Jesus was NOT YET glorified.)" I Cor 12:13 For by one (Holy) Spirit we are all baptized into one body (of Christ Eph 1:20-23), whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been ALL made to drink into one (Holy) Spirit. Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit. John 1:33 And I (John the Baptist) knew him (the Messiah, Jesus) not: but he (God the Father) that sent me (John the Baptist) to baptize with WATER, the same (God the Father) said unto me (John the Baptist), Upon whom you shall see the (Holy) Spirit descending, and remaining on him (Jesus), the same (Jesus) is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost. (34) And I (John the Baptist)saw, and bare record (witness) that this (Jesus) is the Son of God. (36) and looking upon Jesus as he walked, he said, Behold the Lamb of God! God the Father had promised to send another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, Jesus was to baptize believers in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost then indwells the believer, with evidence...Acts 2:4.. God never changes, his word never changes, what he did then he does now...Malachi 3:6 I am the Lord, I change not, therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed. The name Jacob means deceiver. Jesus Christ, the same (never changing), yesterday, today and forever. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ, the express (exact) image of God. Heb 1:3 (Never changing) God the Father never changes, Jesus Christ never changes, the Holy Ghost never changes, they are one..I John 5:7 in spirit and in truth..John 4:24. God has set in motion his format from before the foundation of the world, this has always been, is now, and will always be his method of doing things because he never changes. His plan is good. His method is good. His ways, means and directions are good. He never has to change anything because it is all good. People have to RECEIVE what he has provided, like he provided it, for the purpose he provided it, for their benefit and God's glory! That is where the arguments come in, mankind thinks they know more than God, and that God doesn't know what he is talking about because they don't understand, or do not want to understand what he is saying, and run off with their own ideas, instead of taking his word of truth for what it is, HIS WORD OF TRUTH. God is the source of truth. There is no truth apart from God's truth. All the rest is mankind's speculation "about" God's word of truth. Jesus said, John 17:17 Sanctify them through your truth (God the Father) your word is truth. God's word is everlasting life (never changing) Jesus said..John 12:50 And I know that his (God the Father's) commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me so I speak. John 3:11 then is Jesus speaking about what God has told him to say from Genesis throughout eternity, by the Holy Spirit, which God baptized Jesus with, while he was walking in his "earth suit", i.e. his human body...for what purpose? Heb 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same (flesh and blood body); that through death he might DESTROY him (satan) that had the power of death, that is the devil; and DELIVER them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (i.e. bondage is fear..see Ro 8:15, that God HAS NOT given us..II Tim 1:7 but has given us the Spirit of Faith! Whatsoever is not of faith is sin Ro 14:23, satan is the author of sin John 8:44-47, Jesus is the way, truth, life and the author of it. John 14:6) So before the resurrection no one had been born again and Jesus was speaking of God the Father, God the Son (himself) and God the Holy Ghost. I John 5:7 they are one...He was setting up mankind to receive the Holy Spirit, and to destroy satan by his truth. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

29 | When were disciples born again? | John 3:11 | C.S.M. | 156875
Hi Bows44, They were born again in John 20:22 when Jesus breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Ghost:" This was after the resurrection of Chirst, the same day at evening John 20:19. I Cor 12:13 For by one (Holy)Spirit we are all baptized into one body, wherher we be Jews or Gentiles..we have been all made to drink into one Spirit. When God reveals Jesus to a sinner, and that sinner receives Jesus as their savior, the Holy Spirit then baptizes them (or puts them) into the body of Christ. No, I do not believe receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation or being born again. As I stated in the previous statement, the job of the Holy Spirit as far as a repentant sinner, that takes Jesus as their Lord and Savior from their oppositions to God (i.e. their sins), is to immerse, or baptize them into the body of Christ. We call it being born again, or born from above (or of God). It is also called becoming a NEW CREATURE.. II Cor 5:17 , Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. Gal 6:15, For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a NEW CREATURE. The real you is your spirit, that has a soul and lives in a body....I Thes 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole (human) spirit and (human) soul, and (human) body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Strongs Concordance look up the meaning of sanctify to get a fuller meaning of this verse. We know we are human, so before someone says, why did you put human in there its not in the scripture, the other possibilities are angels spirits, devils spirits, etc..so I don't want them to run off over there. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: The important thing is, did Jesus believe it was necessary? Did Jesus tell them to wait for it, after they had already been born again, or put into the body of Christ? John 20:20 John 1:26-36 tells what God the Father told John the Baptist about the coming Messiah, or Son of God. John and Jesus were cousins, because Mary and Elizabeth were cousins from the natural standpoint. Yet John said, God sent him (John) to baptize with water and that the Messiah was coming. John then made a strange statement, he said ,"I knew him not". Because they were cousins from the natural standpoint, John did know Jesus, they may have gone fishing many times as children, and had family gatherings etc. What John was saying, he didn't know how to identify the Messiah. He was baptizing hundreds of people on a daily basis, as God had instructed him to do, to prepare the way before the Messiah, the Jews were looking for. God gave him a way to be certain he would know the Messiah when he saw him. John 1:33 Upon whom you see the see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost. Who was that, that would baptize with the Holy Ghost? The scripture says it was Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God! John 1:34,36. Water is not the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost is not water! John (and ministers today) baptized with water. Jesus alone, baptizes with the Holy Ghost according to scripture. Jesus called this the "promise of the Father" when he was instructing his disciples to wait at Jerusalem in the scripture. Luke 24:49 Jesus said, "behold, I (Jesus) SEND the PROMISE OF MY FATHER upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, UNTIL you be endued with POWER (from where?) on high (or God the Father)." When did Jesus do this? Acts 1:4 Jesus said, "wait for the PROMISE OF THE FATHER, which you have heard (of who?) me (Jesus). (5) For John truly baptized WITH WATER; but you shall be baptized WITH THE HOLY GHOST not many days hence." That was after they were saved John 20:19, Pentacost was 50 days after the resurrection. The word Pentacost means harvest. What is the church supposed to do? Harvest souls for the kingdom of God! see rest of post...for end of answer |

30 | When were disciples born again? | John 3:11 | C.S.M. | 156876
Hi bows 44, rest of answer Acts 1:8 But you shall receive POWER AFTER the HOLY GHOST is come upon you..(to do what? Harvest souls for the kingdom of God) The Holy Ghost is God's power source for mankind to do this job, and power is only received AFTER, not before, the Holy Ghost is come upon you. They were already saved, and Jesus is the baptizer in the Holy Ghost! John 1:33 the same (Jesus) is he which baptizes WITH THE HOLY GHOST. Acts 2:33 "Therefore (Jesus) being by the RIGHT HAND of GOD exalted, and having RECEIVED OF THE FATHER the PROMISE of the HOLY GHOST, he (Jesus) has shed forth this, which you now see and hear." What did they see AND hear? Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentacost (harvest) was fully come, they were all withone accord in one place. (2) AND SUDDENLY there came a sound FROM HEAVEN as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (3) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. (4) And they were all filled with THE HOLY GHOST, and began to speak with other tongues, as the SPIRIT gave them utterance." Who does scripture say did this? John 1:33 If you said Jesus, you are correct, according to scripture. Scripture bears out that becoming a new creature in Christ is a seperate experience than being baptized by Jesus with the Holy Spirit. Mankind can baptize with water, but only Jesus is qualified to baptize with the Holy Ghost, according to God the Father. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

31 | What is the OT role of the Holy Spirit? | John 3:11 | C.S.M. | 157025
Hi SBoone, You recall that in the old testament prophets, priests and kings were "anointed". That was the type of the Holy Spirit. Recall that the anointing oil was a blend, commanded of God, to be used only for the anointing of the prophet, priest and king. Anyone else who would attempt to use it for any other purpose was forbidden, by the Father. The Holy Spirit "came upon", but not into, "to abide forever", the prophet, priest and King. In the new dispensation, the Holy Spirit is, "within the believer, to abide forever." David was well aware of the Holy Spirits presence with him and upon him, and yes he did say, take not your Holy Spirit from me. You also recall that John 1:33 says that "Jesus is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit." Jesus had not come to earth in a physical, man, form, as yet and the Holy Spirit had not "yet" been given, because Jesus had not "yet" been glorified.John 8:38-39 You recall where Jesus first baptized anyone with the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:4-5, 8, Acts 2:4, and who it was for Acts 2:29-33, 39 Being glorified, is speaking of his death, burial, resurrection, and seating at God's right hand, to ever interceed for you and me, and his coming again, in our future. John 8:38-39 Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

32 | What is the OT role of the Holy Spirit? | John 3:11 | C.S.M. | 157026
Hi SBoone, Ezek 36:26-27 is the clincher on the prior note I sent to you. Notice the phrase "I will put my spirit 'within' you", for at the time he was only upon them, they had hard hearts, they needed a new spirit, they needed to be "born again". When did that happen? After Jesus was glorified, and the Holy Spirit came to guide mankind into all the truth concerning God the Father, God the Son and God the HOly Spirit. We were made "new creatures" in Christ II Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15, we were what is called born again, and as Ezek said, "a new spirit will I put within you" speaking of the human spirit, by the HOly Spirit, because he then says "I will put my spirit within you." So we see the process God would use to cause a person to be born again, become new creatures in Christ, and then be filled with the HOly Spirit, instead of him just being upon, he would be within. We also see it is only by the work of Jesus himself that a person is baptized with the Holy Spirit. That job cannot be done by anyone else, God gave Jesus alone that job. Does that mean when you are born again you do not have the HOly Spirit. No, it is the HOly Spirit that baptizes people into the body of Chirst. I Cor 12:13, but it is Jesus that Baptizes with the HOly Ghost for ministry, and power. Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4 Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

34 | What is the significance of the feet? | John 13:8 | C.S.M. | 155327
Question (short): What is the significance of the feet? Dear Alewa, To understand many things of the Bible, it is helpful to understand that we interpret things much the same way we do in the natural world system of thought, word and deed. Ro 1:20 For the invisible things of him,i.e.God, from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. One tool is the who, what, when, where, how, why questions. Also the height, depth, length, breadth, and width questions we ask. An example is: If you were going to hang curtains the questions needing to be answered would be the tools above mentioned. One would need to know the answer to most of them to be able to properly hang the curtains, who is going to do it, when, how, one must know the measurements etc. This is helpful in scripture also.An example Is: Who is wisdom? Ex 28:3 God speaking to Moses: “Speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I, (God the Father), have filled with the spirit of wisdom... Here we see in this one verse, 1) God is the source of wisdom :the who, 2) wisdom is a spirit: the what, 3) God is the one who fills mankind with wisdom: the how. 4) mankind is the recipient of this God given wisdom (after Moses speaks to them): the how 5) the purpose is to make garments of consecration to God: the why. So we conclude that according to Ro 1:20 that all things are understood in this fashion, first the natural things to understand, up to and including, the God head. That is mind boggeling. If God had not had Paul to write down this revelation of interpretation, there would be no way that anyone could believe that. You will find however, that the method Jesus used to teach, was exactly this method. Jesus used natural things mankind could understand to explain spiritual principles and understandings to us. Another thing for us to understand about ourselves as human beings is that we are a spirit, we have a soul (i.e. a mind, will, and emotions), and we live in a body. I Thes 5:23 Otherwise God would not have had Paul to differenciate between spirit, soul and body. Please note the order, first spirit, the real you, then soul which could be compared to the central processing unit of a computer, and the body, compared to the house you live in. With this in mind, what is the significance of the feet. The body is in the Physical part of your being, it has feet, your body is your mobile home. Feet are your mode of forward movement, transportation, balance, etc. They are the burden carrier, they are tender if unprotected, can be pierced, damaged, destroyed and they can smell :) Scriptural washing is done by: the washing of water by the word Eph 5:26 Gods word is his covenant I Chron 16:15 Mankind lives by God’s word (both physically and spiritually) Deut 8:3, Luke 4:4 God’s word is tried and is perfect. II Sam 22:31, Eph 6:14 God heals by his word Psm 107:20 God makes people alive by his word Psm 119:25 God’s word is settled forever in heaven (i.e. it never changes) Psm 119: 89. Eph 6:15 tells us our feet (forward movement, transportation, balance, burden carriers, tender, destruction prone, smelly feet) are to be shod (or have shoes made out of) the gospel of peace. The gospel is the word of God on every subject relevant to mankind and his walk on this earth. This earth has a system of thought, word and deeds that are 100 per cent opposed to God and his thoughts, words and deeds. Therefore, I conclude that Jesus was speaking of “the washing of the water by the word” and that our shoes to protect our feet is the gospel of peace. (peace means in the Hebrew: nothing missing, broken, left out; a state of wholeness and soundness) and that if he was not allowed to “wash” their feet with his word, they would have no part with him. He was using a physical action, to demonstrate a spiritual truth. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

35 | Spirit Baptism | Acts 8:12 | C.S.M. | 155236
Dear Iktoose, Do you believe that everything Jesus needed to live a successful life on earth we need? Do you believe that he came as our example from God, as to the how to’s, of living a life before God on earth? I do. Therefore consider these verses concerning Spirit Baptism. John 1:17-36 is a confrontation between John the Baptist and the religious leaders concerning Jesus. John identifies himself to them as “one crying in the wilderness” as Isaiah told would come. He continues by saying “he that sent me” (verse 33, meaning God the Father) to baptize with water..said to me, Upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining on him the same is he which BAPTIZES WITH THE HOLY GHOST.” Who did John see this happen to? “And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God...looking on Jesus ..he said, Behold the Lamb of God!” Jesus was baptized with the Holy Spirit by God the Father, because Jesus didn’t baptize himself with the Holy Ghost did he. Then we realize it is necessary because God revealed to John that Jesus would be the one who baptizes mankind with the Holy Ghost. When did Jesus say the Holy Spirit would come? John 16:7 Only after Jesus left the earth! “if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, “I” will send him unto you.” This was AFTER his resurrection, after he left the earth to sit at God’s right hand. Who was going to ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit? John 14:16-17 “I (Jesus) will pray (ask) the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter...even the Spirit of truth..” This was the promise of God the Father, through Jesus the Son, to send the Holy Spirit as our comforter, teacher, guide into all of God’s truth. John 17:17 Did Jesus tell his disciples he would send the promise of his Father, which was the sending of the Holy Spirit? Luke 24:49 “Behold I (Jesus) send the promise of the Father upon you...tarry in Jerusalem (how long?) until you be endued with power from on high.” Where’s that? God the Father’s very presence! Who is the power giver? God! It is believed Luke is the writer of the Acts..and continues to expound on the facts! Acts 1:1-3. Then he writes what Jesus said, “wait for the PROMISE of the Father, which, saith he (Jesus), you have heard OF ME (Jesus). For John baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost..” How did Jesus know? John 1:33 John said Jesus would baptize with the Holy Ghost sent from God! How can you be sure the promise is talking about the Holy Spirit? Acts 2:33 Peter, preaching, “This Jesus has God raised up...and having received of the Father THE PROMISE of the Holy Ghost, has shed forth this which you now see and hear.” Acts 2:38-39 “you shall receive the GIFT of the Holy Ghost. For the PROMISE is unto you and your children..” When was this done? Acts 2:1-4.. So we see God the Father, sent God the Son to pay for sins, and after Jesus sat down at God’s right hand and asked God to send God Holy Spirit, Acts 2:33, God kept his promise to mankind through Jesus! I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven , (God) the Father, (God) the Word (i.e. Jesus), and (God) the Holy Ghost: and these THREE are one.” How are they one? “In Spirit and in Truth” John 4:24 How are true worshipers to worship “In spirit and in truth” John 4:23 How are believers one with God? John 17:11 In spirit and in truth....as we are one Jesus said. Jesus is the most true worshiper of God in the universe! What Jesus needed we need, he was baptized with the Holy Spirit, we need the same thing he needed. Jesus said don’t go into ministry without it, Luke 24:49. Jesus said the power would come AFTER the Holy Ghost came upon them..Acts 1:8. What happened after the Holy Ghost came on them? Acts 2:4 we need this Spirit baptism as Jesus needed this Spirit and power baptism. Always In Christ, C.S.M. |

37 | Lifting hands worship Yes/No? Acts 17:25 | Acts 17:25 | C.S.M. | 155829
Dear Geebers50, Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things in it, seeing that he is Lord (G.supreme authority) of heaven AND earth, dwells not in temples made with hands. Ask yourself is there a difference between heaven and earth? Ask if there is a difference between The Spiritual things of God, and the natural things of mankind? The who, what, when, where, how, and why questions will be helpful in your search. John 4:24 tells us "God is a Spirit, and they that worship him MUST worship him in Spirit and in truth." Ask: How do I worship God in Spirit? How do I worship God in truth? One major clue is John 17:17, John 8:31-32 Psalms 149:1-9, Psalms 150:1-6...tells us exactly how to worship, where the praises should be, what the praises do, where the praises are done, what to praise him about, what kind of musical instruments to use, if you are supposed to move around when you do praise him, and how many things are to praise the Lord. This is spiritual praise, in the psalms, for God alone. It is not the kind that was afforded to human kings by servants with their human (or natural) hands and motives. After you read it, you decide. Aug 5, 2005 Hi Neal Green, To understand this I used Eph 1:6, God's acceptance of any human being, from his viewpoint, is "always in Christ" and it is called his grace. So God's grace is his acceptance of us in Christ Jesus. This is what theologians call "being born again", I call it a.s.k. and you shall receive...John 14:13-14, John 3:16-17. I John 4:8..God is love, he doesn't just have love, he IS LOVE. He is the only source there is of love and we draw from his source, God himself. The definition of Love, which is the essence and character of God is I Cor 13:4-8. Here it is translated "charity" but the Greek concordance says "love". Love is a person, God himself, and love manifests himself in the actions of I Cor 13:4-8 and verse 8 tells us Love "always" succeeds!!! (never fails but always succeeds ) Isn't that just like God! The opposite of love then is hate which is the nature and character of satan. Yes, I know God said he hated Esau. That is another way to say he "rejected" Esau, because Esau, rejected God and his thoughts, words and deeds, his provision for the first born of the family and Esau sold his God given birthright for a piece of bread! That's contempt isn't it? God will not force anyone to serve or love him. It is a voluntary obedience by mankind toward God, because they realize the treasure that God himself is to us. I John 1:5 says God is light! He doesn't just have a light, he is the source of light and in him is no DARKNESS at all. Love is the opposite of hatred. God is Light. Light is the opposite of darkness. Satan is darkness. I John 2:9 He that says he is in the light (i.e. God himself) and hates his brother, is in darkness (i.e. satan) even until now. Light and darkness have nothing in common! Darkness or hatred is not of God, it is of satan! I John 1:5 God is light (i.e. love)and "in him" is no darkness (i.e. hatred) at all! Esau rejected his opportunity to know God, who is light, who is love. God didn't do it to him, he did it to himself. Esau rejected and hated God who is, light, love, and life!
