41621 | Compare Rev 16:17 with John 19:30? | Rev 16:17 | Mommapbs | 46463
Let's look at two "endings: Jesus last words, "It is finished" (John19:30) and the proclamation of the angel, "It is done." (Rev 16:17) Although the Greek word for "done" is not the same as "finish," is it possible to compare or contrast these two Scriptures? |

41629 | Should Christians remain silent on these | Rev 17:5 | Pastor Glenn | 64520
Pigs Created That Carry Human Genes! Concerning a news article at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,66345,00.html "WASHINGTON — By manipulating swine sperm, Italian researchers have made a strain of pigs that carry human genes in their hearts, livers and kidneys, an advance that could lead to creating herds of pigs that could provide organs for transplanting into humans." Is this an abomination or what? It seems that no one cares how God feels about his creation design being twisted, sliced, or diced. Should the "ends" (everlasting life) justify ANY "means"? There is a continuing move to live forever without God. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. Psalm 24 1 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Should Christians remain silent on these things? Pastor Glenn |

41630 | "...these necessary things: ..."??? | Rev 17:5 | Pastor Glenn | 64543
Robert, Thanks for your comments. My mother has told me of how they had to save my life using a blood transfusion on or about the first day after my birth. But, there is still one scripture that I cannot get past: Acts 15 "23They wrote this, letter by them: The apostles, the elders, and the brethren, To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings. 24Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, "You must be circumcised and keep the law"[5] --to whom we gave no such commandment-- 25it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.[6] If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell. " Notice: "...no greater burden than these necessary things: 29that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, ...". Why is this to be kept in the new testament? I think it is because God is saying in both the old and new testaments, that the life (spirit) is in the blood: Deuteronomy 12:23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh. John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Is this really related to blood transfusions or DNA mixing? I wonder. Pastor Glenn |

41633 | Is a euphemism taking His name in vain? | Rev 17:5 | Searcher56 | 76297
Scripture ... Exodus 20:7 "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain." Norrie, Where is there keeping one's word/oaths in this commandment? Matthew 5:33-37 is not talking about this commandemnt. Jesus was talking about oral tradition ... "you have heard that it was SAID". Refer to Numbers 30:2. I am wondering if someone mistaught you or this is your own thought. If you think I added new sins to what God has said, I am sorry. However, if someone does or says something that is offensive, it is not always adding new sins. Romans 14 is an example. Nonetheless, the words you use to defame God do offend me (Matthew 18:15) ... even more, God. Searcher |

41637 | Judaism, Babylon the Great of Rev 17? | Rev 17:5 | gdh1127 | 179789
grace and peace to you too, john. i was expecting it was an answer i will get, not a question *_*. no, i have not come to any conclusion yet. it just occurred to me that judaism, a religion that is far removed when it comes to biblical commanded practices the ot reveals, more logically fits as babylon the great of rev 17 than the roman catholic church does. babylon the great, the book excerpt below also has points that adds to the validity to my above line of thinking *_*. do you have any other areas of consideration? take care, grace |

JVH0212, According to Rev. 17:8, this would indicate either all humans or some humans were written into the book of life before the creation of the universe. I have a couple of questions for this forum to think about. If Rev. 17:8 is true as it is written and if all humans were written into the book of life: 1) why then are all humans born under the condemnation of sin and predestined to the lake of fire for eternity which is the opposite of life? 2) why then do only some humans actually end up in the book of life?
