Bible Question: Just taking a "poll". If a Christian is ALREADY married to a member of a cult, should they divorce them? |
Bible Answer: No..Scripture does say not to be unequaly yoked 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? But scripture does not permit the breaking of a vow just because we realize we should not have made it. Better not to allow God to reveal Himself by His love through the believer to the unbelieving spouse. 1 Corinthians 7:13-15 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. a cult member nor an unbeliever (one and the same really) cannot keep us from worshiping and serving our God. Worship is a relationship, not a religion. Indeed...true worship is to LOVE as He loved...as a servant. God bless |
