Bible Question: is this verse saying that a wife with a husband who is unsaved or who is saved but not applying the word of god to his life, should take full blame and responsiblity for the husbands wrong doing? |
Bible Answer: This verse has nothing to do with the wife taking the blame for her husband...dont' take it out of context. 1 Samuel 25 is recounting the story of a wife faithful to God and fears the wrath of the Lord (v. 14-17). She is simply trying to keep harm from coming to her house. she is pleading her husband's cause before David...she is being the peacemaker. if a husband or wife ha sbeen given all the information, knows the difference between right and wrong, knows about God and our Savior Jesus Christ and still refuses to be in the will of God, then he/she stands alone before God and answers to only his/her wrongdoings. We can't caved anybody else or go to hell for them. You get to heaven or hell on your own. All we can do is present people with the information, accepting and acting on it is up to the individual. |
