Bible Question: How old was David when Samuel anointed him in 1 Samuel 16:13? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Casb40, David could not have been too old as he was the youngest (1 Samuel 16:11-12; 1 Chronicles 2:13-15). One such reason why Samuel somewhat secretly anointed David to be king before his family and house first was for David's protection and to train him for the office that he would eventually hold - King of Israel. David would then be noticed by Saul as a musician and later be his armor bearer, making David an associate of the king and his inner circle. God directed the events of David's life and would shape his path as His chosen King, and God starting doing this with David at an early age. Blessings to you, Makarios |
