Bible Note: Hi Searcher, Hope this isn't too far off topic. You have Tamar listed as a non-Jewish mother. I think you mean non-Hebrew mother, since at that time the only Jews were Judah and his 3 sons. Regardless, the Bible does not say that Tamar was a Canaanite. Genesis 38:6 merely states,"Now Judah took a wife for Er, his firstborn: her name was Tamar." We do know that Judah's first three sons were the sons of a Canaanite mother.
