Bible Question: If we have a judgement day then why are there people in heaven already? And if we go to heaven till judgement day then why are there people in hell? PLEASE ANSWER IM VERY YOUNG AND NEED TO KNOW!!!! |
Bible Answer: Christ said no man has ascended up to heaven. John 3:13 He should know! And He said that those who were dead were merely 'sleeping'. John11:11, Mark 5:29 Ecclesiastes tells us the dead know nothing! Eccl. 9:5. Being dead is very like being in a deep sleep--you don't have any awareness of anything and when you wake (are resurrected) you don't know how long you've been asleep. Most times the word 'Hell' is used it simply means grave. Acts 2:27 David is speaking of the grave. Look up the Greek word and you'll see it's true! There are millions of people in 'hell'--in fact every person who ever lived and died is in 'hell' except Jesus Christ. But there is a Gehenna fire (translated 'hell' fire) and that is after the final judgment. But the idea that millions of people will go to 'hell fire' simply because they weren't fortunate enough to learn about God, is ridiculous! God is above all, FAIR, He would not condemn anyone who had never even had a chance to accept Him to burn in the lake of fire nor would He have the wicked burn FOREVER in torment. That would be more cruel than anything man has ever done to man! No! The wicked will be burned up and become ashes under our feet. Malachi 4:3 and those who never had a chance to be saved will be resurrected. Because there are TWO resurrections! Read Revelation 20 and Ezekiel 37. A First resurrection and The rest of the dead living again to learn of God's ways and live out their lives choosing whether or not they will obey. They are judged as they live just as converted Christians are being judged NOW, as they live. 1 Peter 4:17 Look what Christ told His disciples in Mark 4:11-12. Christ did NOT want the crowd to understand His teachings! That's why He spoke only in parables to them. And why? Because He said His disciples would be FEW at this time! Matthew 22:14 AND only those His Father called could come to Christ! John 6:44, 65. If Christ WAS trying to save the world, He did a lousy job! Because out of the tens of thousands He preached to and healed, only about 120 disciples were waiting for the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost! Acts 1:15 This is a huge subject and I have only skimmed the surface. But rest assured, there are no people either in heaven or hell! How terrible it would be to be up in heaven watching your loved ones suffer and sorrow, unable to do a thing about it. If that's heaven, no thanks! |
