Bible Question: did jesus keep the law |
Bible Answer: Yes, Jesus kept the law. The law of God alone tells us what sin is. So, that Jesus never sinned means that He never broke God's law. Heb 4:15, "For we do not have a high priest [Jesus] who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin." Because He had no sin of His own, He could and did died for the sins of the believer. 2 Cor 5:21, "He [the Father] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Jesus took the believer's sin and gave us his righteousness. Again, sin means to not keep God's law. 1 John 3:4, "Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness." |
