Subject: Is it Ok to pray to the Holy Spirit? |
Bible Note: Cathy, Basically his answer is that the new testament pattern is that we pray to the father, in the name of Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, or in the Spirit. So we want to follow the new testament pattern whenever possible. So in general we pray to the Father. But he notes there are some exceptions to the rule. For example, "Come quickly, Lord Jesus." He mentioned an exception for the Holy Spirit also. So there are some things appropriate to address to the Son, and the Spirit, but our norm should be praying to the Father. But listen to the clip when you get the chance, there is just something about listening to John Piper that I certainly can't reproduce. In Christ, Beja |
