Bible Question: my father was bed riden and accepted christ just before his death. he was unable to be baptized...does not being baptized prevent him from being with christ?? |
Bible Answer: Dear Luke 23:39-43 A man who had lived badly most of his life trusted in the Savior during the very moments he was dying for his crimes. He did not receive baptism, yet he did receive the promise that he would be with the Savior. John 3:16 says if you trust in the Savior you will have eternal life. Baptism is simply an act of obedince. An outward sign to yourself and anyone else who may be interested that something unique and special has happened to you - that you are no longer who and what you once were, you are a changed person. It is a very good thing to be baptized, but it is not necessary to go to heaven. Trusting the word of God and the finished work of His Son is what is absolutely necessary.
