Bible Question:
In 1 Cor 9: 24-25 talks about us receiving a prize, a crown, do we know what that would be? Thank You |
Bible Answer: God's day to you, LovemyLord7, In the context of this passage, 1Co 9:24-26a (I addeded 26a), it is an imperishable crown. It is comapred with a perishable crown the winner of the running race. The latter got something that wouldn't last, but only one could win. Our crown which will last. When we run, we need to obey the rules to win the crown (2Ti 2:5) ... Paul finished the race - kept the faith, so will win the crown of righteousness (2Ti 4:7b-8). Since 2Ti 4:7a says fought the good fight and 1Co 9:26b also is about fighting ... I believe the crown in 1Co 9:24-26 is the crown of righteousness. It is dangerous to connect passages, I think I did it correctly. IMHO, Searcher |
