Bible Question:
My coworker repeatedly takes the name of the Lord in vain. It upsets me to hear it, but worse still, he told me that there is nothing wrong in using the name of God instead of swearing. Can anyone give me scripture to print out for him? I got Matthew 12:36 and Exodus 20:7 so far. My coworker told me that I am "lost" and completely wrong on this issue. I just want him to stop doing something so offensive to the Lord. Many thanks! Linda |
Bible Answer: Pray for your co-worker and do acts of kindness for him. Some time after you feel you have established a rapore (?) with him - tell him in a kind way how much you love Christ and how it hurts you when you hear his name used that way and you wish he wouldn't do it in front of you. If he doesn't stop at least you know you took a stand for your Lord. Commit him into the Lord's hand and He will take care of it for you. Blessings, Val Oh and be sure and do it privately - not to embarrass him in front of other people. Ps 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. |
