Bible Question: Can any one here, provide any insight on the "heart" that is frequently spoken of in the Scriptures, (830 times in the KJV). I have always understood the "heart" to be a spiritual reference, and not the actual physical organ in our bodies. I recently heard someone strongly imply that it is the physical organ. Any thoughts Forum? |
Bible Answer: In the NASB the word heart appears 726 times in 677 verses. A quick scan of the list reveals heart is mentioned almost always in regards the soul of man a spiritual reference rather than a physical organ. In a few places I found the term heart used that could be thought of talking of the physical heart it was places like Job 37:1 (NASB) 1 "At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place. Which could be talking of the spiritual heart at the same time. |
