Bible Question: What does the bible say about enhancing your looks, like cosmetic surgery. |
Bible Answer: As far as I know there is no mention of cosmetic surgery in scripture. However there is much teaching on pride and not allowing our pride to lead us astray. When an architech designs a building he does not want the building looks to be changed by graffiti. While true some graffiti actually improves the looks in some cases, it was not the architechs intention. God builds us the way he does and most of the time the reasons are not known, but God does have a purpose. While we are free to change our looks we must remain aware of this. Again we must deal with our pride. On the other side of the coin God has given talents to the doctors and nurses that does this work. Many times they help people that have suffered with defects get back a normal life. How we look to ourselves is important and if we aren't happy that can be reflected to the world. So there is pro and con to this subject. We must decide for ourselves, we do this by examining our motives, our wants, our desires. Are any of them out of line with the word of God. |
