Bible Question (short): Is marriage defined as united into one? |
Question (full): Marriage is sex. The two seem to be interlinked. Throughout the Bibile, I've not found one verse about official documentation of marriage. To be married is to be "united as one flesh." When a man joins with a woman, she becomes his wife. So my question is, if you have been joined with one man and have become one flesh, are you married in God's sight? Or are do you need official documentation to be "married?" The Bible tells us to run away from sexual immorality, adultery and fornication. But if the Bible, and God is saying that marriage is being united as one flesh, why do so many peole talk about sex before marriage as wrong? Isn't it that when you are one flesh, you are married? |
