Bible Question:
In other words you believe it is impossibe for Rev 12:9 to have cast out the adversary before the time of John and is not a proof-text of it? So where do you think people could have gotten the idea of a bogeyman that was created? |
Bible Answer: Well the first known use of bogeyman (various spellings) is 1890. The term was generally used to scare children into being compliant with parents or adults wishes. There are regional bogeymans with various characteristics, all with the purpose of scaring children into being compliant. I don't think Rev. 12:9 proves that there is a bogeyman, yet Satan does try to get compliance by any method possible, fear, deception, lies, in this manner Satan and the bogeyman are a lot alike.
