Bible Question (short): Nailing up a debt in public view. |
Question (full): Was there a practice in ancient Israel of a poor person nailing up a debt, in public view, in hopes that a rich man would fold the paper over and write his name on it, thereby signifying that he would pay the debt? If so, is that the thought in Isaiah 40:2? |
