Bible Question: Paul's controversy |
Bible Answer: I'm thinking one of Paul's biggest problems in the church of the first century was that of the Judaizers following the missionaries, himself, Silas, along with Barabas and John Mark. They were preaching simply "Christ and Him crucified" but the Judaizers were traveling around preaching the supplemental requirement of have christians be circumcised. This finally got elevated to the famous "Council of Jerusalem," Acts 15 but the Judaizers never stopped their false teaching. One of the more interesting responses from Apostle Paul was illustrated by handling the false teaching in two different ways with his two different sons of faith, Timothy and Titus.
