Subject: gods blessing goes to younger not older |
Bible Note: Quoted from Cheagan: "Anyone wanna take a stab at the theological implications?" I've always been taught this was a demonstration of God's Wisdom over man's wisdom. You see, like a small child we human beings read the scriptures below but it doesn't seem to register with us until we get smacked in the face with the "cold harsh reality of God's Ways," in the form of a humbling session. 1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Cor 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 21 Therefore let no one boast in men. and Is 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. We just have to accept the fact in God's World, His Ways, His Thoughts are about as far above ours as our ways and thoughts are above the insect world, maybe a little more distant. Go with God in all things, Bill PS: And the answer is Yes. I too have had my humbling session with God; as a matter of fact, several times. |
